"I'm back!" William called out as he entered the homestead. Today, he had made it a point to return an hour and a half earlier than usual. On arrival, he found his little angel, Aimee, busily playing under the careful watch of Isabella in the garden. His heart warmed at the sight. He could see that the garden was flourishing under Isabella's care. The once barren space was now teeming with a variety of vegetables and punctuated with pops of color from a selection of blooming flowers.
Upon spotting her father, Aimee squealed with delight. Dropping her toys, she scrambled to her feet and ran as fast as her tiny legs would carry her toward William.
"Daddy!" she squealed in delight. "You're back!" Her words were music to his ears. It was one of the purest joys of his day. Instantly, he bent down, opening his arms wide for his bundle of joy.
