In the middle of the night, William returned to the inn. He entered the room without making any noise. He was trying to be as quiet as possible.
As William walked in, he was surprised to find Isabella sitting on the corner of the bed and waiting for him. She was reading a book.
The entire room was dark. There were two candles next to the bed. The light from the candles was enough for Isabella to read.
Seeing William Isabella stood up and greeted him with a smile. "Welcome back. How did your meeting go?"
William didn't think Isabella would stay awake and wait for his return. He had gotten used to coming very late at night without anyone waiting for his return. There weren't any expectations in his heart for her to wait for him. This touched his heart very much. William once again felt that she was the right partner for him. No one in the whole world could understand him better than she did.
