Chereads / Dungeon Owner in the Apocalypse / Chapter 3 - The World (2)

Chapter 3 - The World (2)

Lu Chen observed the five shadows standing like soldiers.

They had two white eyes, dense black bodies, and emitted black gas from their heads.

"Move forward," he said.

The shadows proceeded, forming a line and maintaining equal speed.

"..." Lu Chen couldn't decide whether to laugh or cry.

Their speed was so slow that even a snail would be faster.

He walked to the bed in the corner of the room, the only undamaged item. It took him only six seconds to reach it.

"Come here," he ordered.

The shadow turned and approached. While it took Lu Chen six seconds to reach the bed, it took nearly 60 seconds for the shadow to cover the same distance.

"Attack the bed."

Three shadows swiftly swiped their hands, slicing the bed into five clean pieces as if cutting through butter.

Gulp!

Lu Chen's heart trembled.

"If I had let them get closer to me earlier... my fate would have been similar to this bed."

He let out a soft breath and examined the shadow. "They are incredibly slow but immensely powerful," he muttered. He grabbed one shadow by its leg and lifted it effortlessly.

It was so light that it felt like a wooden statue. Lu Chen swung the shadow, banging it on the bed and experimenting with its movements.

"Now, this is a good weapon." He could even lift the shadow with one hand, so he carried two shadows with him.

He exited the room and stepped into the dark corridor. A chill spread through his body, causing him to shudder.

Walking slowly and cautiously, he surveyed his surroundings.

Rooms were positioned every three meters. He glanced into the first room he encountered, where five shadows were plastered on the walls.

As he stepped forward, the shadow on the wall stirred, attempting to alter the wall. Lu Chen quickly stepped back, and the shadows calmed down.

He then positioned the shadows on the floor. As they touched the ground, the shadows seethed with even greater intensity.

He hurriedly picked up the shadows and stepped into the room. The shadows slowly emerged from the wall, materializing on the ground as their color darkened. They walked towards Lu Chen in a line.

Lu Chen quickly surveyed the room and noticed a large bed in the corner. He ran towards it, taking cover behind the bed. The shadows were too slow to catch up to him.

He then positioned the bed in front of him, rolling it to the side to provide protection. With a burst of determination, he ran towards the shadows, commanding his own shadow, "Attack!"

As his shadow neared the enemy shadow, it swiftly swiped its hands, slicing the shadow into two pieces. The severed parts quickly fused back together as the shadow retaliated with incredible speed.

However, Lu Chen had already pulled his shadow back. As the enemy shadow swiped its hands, Lu Chen's shadow launched its attack. With another claw-like strike, the enemy shadow dissipated.

Each shadow was three seconds away from Lu Chen, but those three seconds felt like a 30-second difference to them. The other shadows couldn't assist their fallen comrade in time.

After dealing with one shadow, Lu Chen turned around and rushed towards the remaining shadows. Before they could react, he simultaneously swiped both of his shadows at the enemy shadow.

The two shadows attacked in unison, each strike dealing 50 damage, causing the enemy shadow to dissolve before it could retaliate.

Lu Chen then stepped back and extended his two shadows to the left and right. With his hands at his sides, he rotated, moving like a tornado with the aid of the shadows.

"Continue the attack," he commanded, and the shadows repeatedly swiped their hands.

He then approached the remaining enemy shadows, his shadow passing through them. The shadows attempted to attack, but before they could strike, they dissolved into the ground.

Feeling a wave of dizziness, Lu Chen stopped after spinning for 10 seconds. He stumbled and made his way to the bed. Collapsing onto it, the bed straightened under his weight as he lay there.

"The world is spinning..." His eyes spun, and he remained lying on the bed for five minutes.

[You have defeated this room; hence, this room belongs to you now.]

As he read the sentence, the words disappeared, and new words appeared.

[Room: Owned]

[Grade: F-]

[Number of monsters: 5]

"Two rooms owned," he said with a smile as he glanced at his additional five shadows.

"Now... it's time to become a terrorist." A devilish grin formed on Lu Chen's face as a plan took shape in his mind.

After a minute, Lu Chen stepped out of the room.

Perched on his shoulder was a shadow, while two shadows intertwined their legs on his stomach—one stretching to the front and the other to the back.

On his chest, above his stomach, were two more shadows. Their legs also intertwined, with one stretching to the left and the other to the right.

With two shadows in his hands, he swung them around, giving the impression of a terrorist. However, instead of guns and bombs, he wielded shadows.

In a way, he also appeared like a monster. A chill spread through his body. He wore a big smile on his face, as if excited for what was to come.

His footsteps echoed on the ground. "I need to turn shadows into a show, it seems." As he looked up, he saw tens of shadows slowly moving towards him at the speed of a turtle.

"Now for another round." Fear slowly released its grip on him, replaced by excitement and thrill.

With his newly acquired defense and weapons, he rushed towards them, ready to face the shadows head-on!
