"That's exactly why I won't teach you any spells, dark magic isn't something to joke with, a small fry like you with no grasp of magic would only be consumed by dark magic" the man spoke.
"Who are you to tell me that, and I'm not a small fry" Lewis sneered.
"Wait, if you are a mage, then how did you end up in this forest with no recollection of how you got here, show me a spell," the elf girl said.
"He doesn't need to show you a spell, I can sense Mana from him, I can't believe you still can't sense Mana, elves are said to be loved by Mana, in all my years I haven't seen an elf that can't sense Mana, no wonder you were..." before the man could speak the elf girl was in front of him with a dagger on his neck.
"Huh!!" Lewis mouthed as he looked around, in an instant she moved from where she was and appeared in front of the man, even Lewis who was facing the man had no idea when she appeared there.
"There you go again with your bad habit, what are you waiting for, cut me down," the man said.
"What, why would you say that, we should all calm down right?" Lewis muttered.
The elf girl turned around and walked outside of the tent, from her face Lewis could tell she was angry but he could see tears in her eyes as she walked out.
"What was that about?" Lewis asked.
"Don't concern yourself, I believe I healed you and gave you food so you are free to go" the man said as he continued his work.
"If you can actually sense my Mana then you must know I can learn necromancy spells, why won't you teach me?" Lewis asked.
"Because I don't want to, because I don't need a student, because you are too weak, because you are going to die if I do, take your pick," the man said with glancing in Lewis's direction.
"I'm going to the city" the elf girl spoke as she walked in.
"Okay, but don't forget our agreement, be here tomorrow morning" the man spoke and she walked out.
'She going to the city, if I go with her then...wait I got ten coins from the task I completely, I kept it, ohh it's still there, first I need to find somewhere to sleep and something to eat, this man won't allow me to stay here I'm sure' Lewis mumbled to himself.
"What are you waiting for?" the man asked.
"I'm waiting for you to teach me, I have nowhere to go, and nowhere to stay, since you are a mage I want you to take me under your wing, I can help you with your work, and in return, you'll teach me spells," Lewis said.
"I don't need help, and I don't need a student as weak as you, if you want me to train you, then increase your Mana core before tomorrow, mind you I can sense Mana so I'll know if yours increased"
"That's all I have to do?" Lewis asked.
"Yes, that is all, and seeing you smiling, it seems you already have a way of doing that, I'll leave it to you," the man said.
The tent opened and the elf girl walked back in, "Prepare some soup, I'm going to hunt" she spoke as she wore a black cloak that covered her entire body.
"I thought you were going back to the city, what happened?" the man asked.
"Change of plans, I'm staying here tonight, I'm sure you already know why," she said as she walked out.
"She already went to the city and she's back, are we that close to the city?" Lewis asked.
"It's a 20 minutes walk from here to the city and 20 minutes back, and mind you this woods isn't safe"
"But it hasn't been 10 minutes and she's already back, that mean she's super fast or does she have wings?" Lewis muttered.
"Are you crazy or just dumb, it seems you aren't taking the test I gave to you seriously, instead of training, you are talking"
"That's because I don't need training, give me some minutes, I'll be back," Lewis said as he walked out with a smile on his face leaving the man surprised.
The man knew there was no way Lewis could increase the capacity of his Mana core in some hours, most mages train for years, some for months, and some for weeks but no one has ever increased his Mana core in a few hours but Lewis was different, he had something that no one has.
Lewis looked around and found a good spot on a tree he could seat on, he quickly climb on and sat down, after looking around to make sure no one was looking at him.
"Inventory" Lewis mumbled and waited for the rift to open in front of him but nothing happened.
'That's right, I'm no more in a game, this is the real world and I have no inventory, then where did all my items go to, and what about the encyclopedia' Lewis thought and the book appeared in front of him.
A book with a black hard cover and nothing written on top appeared in front of him, from the side, he could see all the book pages were white and he attempted to take the book but his hands passed right through it.
'Huh!! what's the meaning of this, if I can't touch the book then how do I use it, ohh I have an idea, stats' Lewis mumbled and the from page of the book opened.
