"What, he has a summon, a named creature at that!" the man was surprised, same with the elf girl.
'I knew it, Xavier appeared faster than before, so I need to say come forth every time' Lewis smiled.
"Attack that skeleton" Lewis spoke.
"Huh! why should I attack one of my kind, it not like he trying to kill you" Xavier spoke looking at Lewis.
"What do you think he's trying to do, serve me tea or what" Lewis spoke and the skeleton dashed towards them.
The skeleton held a sword and ignored Xavier going straight for Lewis, with its immense agility it took it seconds to appear in front of Lewis.
*CLANG*
Xavier and the skeleton clashed swords, Lewis quickly moved away as Xavier pushed the skeleton backwards.
"Should I kill it or you want to keep it?" Xavier asked.
"Keep it, wait can I tame it like I did to you!" Lewis asked.
"Yes, but don't name it, just absorb the skeleton's energy and you would be able to summon it at will, but it's going to remain at this level forever" Xavier spoke as he blocked another hit from the skeleton.
Even with it agility boost it still couldn't get past Xavier and attack Lewis, so it was now focused on Xavier.
"Just kill it, I'll learn how to do that later" Lewis said.
The skeleton swung it sword toward Xavier and he dodged and moved away from the skeleton instead of parrying, leaving Lewis open to attack.
[Projectile bone]
"Hey what are you doing" Lewis shouted as he stretched his hands forward ready to cast a fireball spell but Xavier's sword pierced the skeleton's head before it could take a move and it fell to the ground, the book opened in front of him.
[Skeleton defeated]
[20 XP gained]
"Easy, so who summoned the damn skeleton, is it one of those...wow she's beautiful" Xavier stopped as he saw the elf girl.
"Yeah, I know but don't say it in front of her, don't even speak" Lewis said as the man and the elf girl walked towards him.
"I didn't think you have mastered a necromancy spell, you should have said so earlier" the man said.
"Would that have changed anything?" Lewis asked.
"Yes, it seems you are compatible with dark magic, not all mages are like that" the man said.
"So you are going to train me?" Lewis asked.
"Yes, under the condition that you are going to help us destroy the plague" the man said.
"Of course, so can I ask your names now?"
"I'm Alfred, she's Lillian" the man said.
"Hi, I'm Xavier"
"Huh! he can talk?" Lillian asked immediately.
"I told you not to say anything, go back, return to the underworld" Lewis said.
"Why, I want to stay with the Lillian" Xavier pouted.
"Wow! what a strange named creature you have, it has feelings and emotions, but it isn't powerful" Alfred spoke.
"But I just destroyed your skeleton, and you call me weak" Xavier said as he raised his sword.
Alfred chuckled and pointed a finger towards Xavier and his bones crumbled and vanished I to thin air without a single trace left.
"Huh! wait...what just happened, you didn't kill him right?" Lewis asked.
"Of course not, I returned him back to the underworld, you can summon him any time you like"
"Okay, so what do we start with, I still have no idea how to control Mana" Lewis said and both of them looked at him.
"Wait, you have no idea how to control Mana, then how did you cast a spell, and how did you summon your named creature, wait how did you even obtain a named creature, mages studying necromancy have to undergo lots of training before summoning an undead creature and even more training before naming them" Alfred spoke.
"I guess I got lucky" Lewis mumbled with his head down.
"You can't get lucky with necromancy, did something unexpected happened?" Alfred asked.
"Well I was attacked by a pack of black wolves and almost died, that was when I summoned Xavier and named him" Lewis explained.
"Well it's possible but I still find it strange, how did you know the spell, the magic circle and how to cast it?" Alfred asked.
"I have no idea what you are talking about, if I did, I wouldn't need you to train me"
"So we'll have to start from the basics, train your physical strength first, then I'll train you" Alfred said as he walked towards his tent.
"Wait...I don't understand, do you need to train your physical strength to use magic?" Lewis asked.
"No, but I hate mages that are weak in close combat, once you get close to them, it's over, you won't be of any use in the wastelands if that is the case, there's a sword at the back of the tent, you can call your summon and train with him, or train with Lillian, your choice...and we're going to the wastelands tomorrow morning" Alfred said as he walked inside.
"Huh! what's his deal?" Lewis asked Lillian.
"He just wants you to be of use, would you like to spar with me, or your summon?" Lillian asked.
"I'll spare with you, I don't think Xavier would be of much use" Lewis said.
"Okay, but don't think I'll go easy on you just because we are training" Lillian said as she moved backward toward a tree.
"I wouldn't want you to go easy on me" Lewis said as he took the sword from the back of the tent.
Lillian was still standing there unarmed waiting for him, "What are you waiting for, attack"
"But you are unarmed, and I have a real sword, don't you have a training sword around..." before Lewis could finish his sentence he felt something powerful hit his face and he was sent flying.
"Ouch...what was that" Lewis shouted as he looked up and saw Lillian standing in front of him.
