"Let go of that child!" Yesan ran very quickly after the old man who was now running away from her.
"Hey, you heard my voice, right? Let go of that kid!"
Yesan clucked in annoyance. She jumped very high from where she was and over the old man's body, landing in front of him. The old man stopped his running while clutching the child in his arms.
"Let her go!" snapped Yesan as glared at him. The old man chuckled in annoyance.
"He's my son. Do you intend to steal the son of an old father?"
Yesan choked on her words. "That's funny, did you think I wouldn't see your movements in kidnapping and giving him sleeping pills?" She raised her hands in front of her as she said,
"Hand over the child to me or you're finished in my hands."
Kale stopped his running, he stood not far from where Yesan and the old man were staring at each other.
The old man chuckled at being caught. "Alright, take this child." When the child was about to be taken down from his arms, he quickly threw a dagger at Yesan.
"Sister Yesan, watch out!" snapped Kale frantically.
Yesan had already noticed the move and quickly unleashed her monster martial arts technique, which made her move quickly to avoid the dagger and leap to grab the child with a speed that was hard to see by ordinary eyes.
Both Kale and the old man were surprised at how Yesan had turned her back on the old man while holding the unconscious child.
Yesan glanced in his direction, before tapping her shoe twice.
- CRACK
The ground seemed to tremble before the old man finally noticed three large transparent red eyes surrounding his body. Immediately something heavy slammed into his body, causing him to fall and bleed profusely from every side of his skin.
Yesan walked over to Kale who was still frozen in place watching all of this. "Sorry, Kale. Don't look. It's not appropriate for children."
She took Kale's small hand and led him out of the alley. The two of them walked in silence. Until Kale opened his voice to ask out of curiosity.
"Is he dead?"
"No. I just traumatized him for daring to kidnap innocent children for no reason," Yesan replied, looking at Kale with a gentle smile.
"Traumatized?"
"An event a person experiences that has the potential to make him anxious all the time. By having that trauma, he would never commit a crime like kidnapping innocent children," Yesan said as she looked at the little boy in her arms.
"But isn't that just as evil?"
Kale's question made Yesan stop his footsteps. She caught her breath before lowering her body beside Kale. "Are you mad at me?" asked Kale when Yesan bowed for him.
"Your question is good, I just want to know where you learned it from?"
"From Chale's brother. He said that we shouldn't repay someone's bad actions with bad actions too. Because that means we're just like him," Kale replied. Yesan smiled and immediately stood up, brushed Kale's short hair, and walked back to him while holding hands.
"Chale's words are not wrong, that's how it should be. I hope that you will continue to follow his teachings. However, I don't know when it will come, but someday you will have to be firm and teach those who do bad things a lesson." Yesan turned to Kale, who was still staring at her.
"Sometimes, there are criminals who are unforgivable. Where we have to teach him a lesson to make him repent for acting like that, instead of forgiving and repaying with good actions."
Kale was confused. "How can I tell which one I should forgive, and which one I should teach a lesson to so that he doesn't act again in the future?"
"With time, you will understand Kale." Outside the alley, Yesan's gaze fell on a couple talking frantically and fearfully to the security guards.
Yesan looked sadly at them, the parents of the child in her arms must be very worried. She wouldn't regret teaching the old man such a lesson, it was well deserved. How could he separate a child from its parents? He was too evil to be called human.
Kale and Yesan walked up to the parents of the child Yesan was holding. "Excuse me, sis. I want to..."
The mother of the child looked at her with surprise, but she smiled happily to see that her son was still alive. Approaching Yesan's figure while thanking her, "Thank you, God, I am so grateful that my son is unharmed..."
The mother's words stopped when she saw more clearly that Yesan had three strange red eyes, she stepped back, bumping into her husband who looked flustered. "Honey, what's wrong?"
"Oh my god... Oh my god..." The mother's body trembled with fear and immediately fell. Her husband immediately went down, hugging his wife from the side while asking her questions.
Meanwhile, the security guard immediately aimed his bat at Yesan, making her take a few steps backward out of reflex.
When she realized something was wrong, Yesan immediately pulled her robe down further. "You... THREE-EYED MONSTER!"
All the humans nearby instantly focused their attention on Yesan. The woman's hands were clasped tightly around the child and her headscarf to keep her eyes closed.
"He said three-eyed monster?"
"The monster tribe? That disgusting tribe?"
"She's holding a child. She will eat it with her disgusting group!"
"The three-eyed monster tribe doesn't belong here, it must be hunting other small humans like that child!"
Kale tugged at Yesan's lower robe. "Sis put that kid down, we have to go!" Kale's body was lifted, while the crowd approached the figure of Yesan who was still trying to hold the child.
"You'll be safe with me." A man kept trying to restrain himself from going near where Yesan was.
"Let me go!"
"Sister Yesan!" Kale squealed, trying to break free from the man's arms. Meanwhile, Yesan was still faithfully holding the little boy, she had no intention of handing her over to anyone but his original parents.
Yesan was worried that one of the other humans might be the same as the old man, so she decided to keep the little boy in his arms despite being pulled here and there until her robe came down to reveal her face.
"Disgusting!"
"She really is a creature that doesn't deserve to live!"
"Leave the child to us, you damn monster!"
They beat her up, but Yesan still kept the child in his arms. Not letting anyone take it away except his biological parents
Kale felt sad to see that. He unconsciously cried seeing it all, why didn't Yesan reply? Didn't that human over there commit a crime against her? Yesan should have retaliated, wasn't she very strong?
"Sister Yesan, fight back... Fight back... "
The father of the child came forward and tried to grab his son, knowing he was his parent made Yesan release the child for him.
After all the wounds were inflicted and Yesan was lying weakly on the ground, heavy rain began to fall, and everyone quickly fled. Leaving Yesan with Kale there.
"Sister Yesan ... Why ... didn't you fight back?"
Yesan's face turned towards Kale who was staring at her with tears streaming down his face.
"They are innocent."
"They were just protecting themselves from his fear." Kale approached her and took off his cloak to place it on Yesan's back which was already wet from the heavy rain.
"Kale, sorry, I can't give you a present. I'm sorry for being a bad sister on your birthday." Kale shook his head when he heard Yesan's statement, he wiped his tears.
"No, don't feel guilty. I even feel grateful that you brought me here, I'm just sad, even though you're so strong, but why didn't you defend yourself?" Yesan lifted her body easily. She gently stroked Kale's wet hair.
"I only fight what I think is evil, Kale. What they did just now was a form of self-protection from a threat--"
"But, you're not a threat!" Kale interrupted unacceptably.
"I'm not. But not everyone thinks that way, Kale. They only believe what they see and feel. We can't force what we believe on people who don't even want to understand it." Yesan immediately got up and picked Kale up, running very fast through the heavy rain.
...
...
...
Right now.
Kale sat on the porch of the Leader's house, his eyes gazing ahead as he thought about the dream of his first birthday with the three-eyed monster tribe.
He missed them.
Kale let out a frustrated sigh for the umpteenth time.
"Brother..." A little boy came approaching him, he was the boy Kale had previously saved from the chaos when Noel arrived.
He came carrying a small box of cookies, Kale smiled at him, feeling warm at the sight of a child who was now walking with small steps to immediately sit next to Kale. "Are you well? I brought cookies for you, want to try them?"
Kale accepted it happily. "Thank you, that's very kind of you. What's the name of the cake?"
"It's called cake of hope."
"Cake of hope?" The boy nodded. "Why is it called Cake of Hope?" asked Kale curiously as he looked at the oval-shaped cake.
"Because the only cake we can eat is this cake, so it's called the cake of hope." Kale felt sad to hear that, but he maintained his smile as he looked at the child.
"Then I'll take my permission to eat."
"HIKAA!" One of the four big men who had beaten Kale seemed to walk over to the little boy by Kale's side, pulled him up, and left without a word.
Kale just smiled resignedly at him. He immediately looked down to stare at the cookies in the box on his lap. Grabbing one cake and putting it in his mouth, he chewed slowly and tasted the bad taste of the cake.
Remembering the words of the little boy named Hika, the cake of hope was the only cake they could eat so far. This meant that the cake was made with the bare minimum of ingredients. Kale thought about how the monster tribe, who had never cooked because they ate vegetables straight from the forest, had learned to cook for him to eat.
It didn't taste very good, but because it was cooked with love, it was delicious.
Kale ate the cake again with gusto. The flavor became even better, making him hungry and he continued to eat the cake in the box until it was gone.
It was so delicious. Kale was grateful to be able to taste it.
