As I contemplated the impending school day, a thought crossed my mind, "Nah, school is for broke pussies. I need some sleep." I decided to skip school and threw myself onto the bed. "Besides," I thought, "I have more important matters to attend to tomorrow." And fell asleep like a baby, finally free from my worries.
Within the cocoon of my dreams, a cacophony of a thousand nightmares unraveled before my sleeping mind. Hours drifted by, joined in the surreal numbers of nightmares, until a sudden shaking jarred me awake.
Instinctively, I reacted, pushing away the person shaking me, my eyes still sealed shut, as I let out an involuntary scream due to my nightmare. Slowly, I peeled my eyelids apart, and there on the floor, I beheld my mother, her expression a mix of shock and fear.
