Chapter 54 - Go to Kailomen again

After leaving the timber market, Jake grabbed a quick bite to eat and went to the bustling commercial district to see if there were any suitable storefronts available for lease. Once he sold the Purple Sandalwood, he would have the startup capital to open a restaurant.

"Boss, have you heard about Jerking Motion Gym?" Suddenly, someone handed Jake a promotional flyer.

"Jerking Motion Swimming and Fitness Club," Jake read the description on the flyer.

"Boss, at our Jerking Motion Gym, we have a great environment, a wide range of exercise equipment, and professional trainers. It's the ideal place for sports and fitness," the attractive woman who handed Jake the flyer started introducing the gym when she noticed he didn't immediately discard it.

In recent years, there had indeed been an increasing number of gyms, and more people were actively exercising. However, Jake had come across news about many gyms that collected membership fees from customers and then abruptly closed down, only to reopen elsewhere and deceive more people with new memberships. It was a vicious cycle.

If this had been before, Jake might have outright refused. He would run and do some exercises at Princeton University in the morning, maintaining his physical health without aiming to build muscle. However, his thinking had changed now. After leveling up in another dimension, Jake's physical fitness, strength, and other bodily qualities had been continuously enhanced. He needed to expend and become familiar with this increased strength. Therefore, finding a more professional place with more exercise equipment to work out seemed necessary.

"You're interested in a gym? Let me tell you more," the attractive woman's eyes brightened when she saw Jake's interest. "Our gym is not far from here, conveniently located, and for a membership card, it's 3,888 for a year and 10,888 for three years. It's very affordable. If you have time now, I can take you there to have a look."

After thinking for a moment, Jake didn't refuse. The "Jerking Motion" Swimming and Fitness Club was indeed nearby. Jake followed the woman and arrived in about ten minutes. It wasn't too far from his place. The gym had a decent size, a pleasant environment, and people were working out inside. Overall, Jake was satisfied. Since he didn't have much money at the moment, he purchased a one-year membership card.

As he hadn't found a storefront yet, Jake decided to start exercising right there in the gym.

"Boss, would you like personal training?" a trainer approached Jake as he was warming up.

"No, thank you," Jake declined.

Jake had heard that the personal training scene at this gym was chaotic, with some people becoming trainers after just a few days of training themselves. Their abilities and qualifications were questionable. Although Jake had declined, the trainer didn't immediately leave. Instead, he continued to persuade Jake. What he said made some sense – blindly training without guidance could result in not achieving the desired results and potentially injuring oneself. However, Jake remained unmoved and continued to refuse. After a while, the trainer reluctantly left.

Jake hadn't studied professional training before, but now that his intelligence had increased, he had a strong learning ability. By observing others' exercises, he could easily learn without the need for personal trainers. There was no need to hire one.

Jake spent half the day sweating in the gym until evening when he took a shower and left. Back at his residence, Jake changed into different clothes before heading to the entrance of Princeton University.

Jake hadn't forgotten about Wendy's invitation. When Jake arrived, Wendy was already there, standing at the entrance, elegant and enchanting. Passing students couldn't help but steal a glance.

"Sorry, I'm late," Jake approached. In reality, Jake wasn't late, but Wendy had arrived even earlier.

Wendy glanced at Jake and said, "Let's go." She raised her hand to hail a taxi. At this moment, Jake witnessed the privileges of a beautiful woman. When he had tried to catch a taxi here before, he had waited for a long time without success. However, as soon as Wendy raised her hand, a taxi stopped shortly after, and surprisingly, nobody else tried to compete for it. Perhaps they didn't want to lose face in front of a beautiful woman.

"Where are we going?" Jake stole a glance at the driver through the rearview mirror and asked Wendy.

"Kailomen," Wendy's voice remained cold.

"Kailomen?" Jake was surprised. Was he really so destined to be connected with this place?

"Yes," Wendy nodded. "Just meeting someone and having a meal."

"That's it?" Jake felt that this matter shouldn't be so simple. Otherwise, considering Wendy's personality, she wouldn't have invited him.

"Yes," Wendy nodded again. "During the meal, you only need to focus on eating. You don't have to worry about anything else."

"Alright," Jake agreed.

Although the chef at Kailomen was slightly inferior in skill compared to Jake, the taste was still good, and there was a wide variety of dishes. Jake wouldn't refuse a free meal. However, deep down, Jake felt that this matter couldn't be that simple. The car quickly arrived at Kailomen, and Wendy and Jake got out of the car under the driver's reluctant gaze.

"Welcome!" Two beautiful hostesses greeted them at the entrance, and Jake remembered them.

"Do you have a reservation?" a service staff member approached them.

"Yes, spearmint Hall," Wendy said.

"Please follow me," the staff member led them to a private room on the second floor.

On the way, Jake unexpectedly saw Don, and Don noticed Jake as well. Don's eyelids twitched involuntarily, but he didn't say anything. Visitors were guests, and even though he had grievances against Jake, Jake was a guest. As the manager, Don had no right to drive away customers.

"Hello, Don," Jake greeted with a smile.

"Hello, Mr. Jake," Don glanced at Wendy next to Jake, his eyes filled with admiration. "Mr. Jake always has beautiful women accompanying him."

Don was complimenting Wendy's beauty while also hinting to Wendy that it wasn't the first time he had seen Jake bringing a beautiful woman here. In fact, Don knew Verna and was aware that Jake and Verna didn't have any relationship. He was just trying to slyly provoke Jake.
