Chapter 24 - 24. Pregnancy And...A More Distressing News

"I think I'm pregnant." Nicole told Georgia that morning after throwing up for the third time. She hadn't been able to go out for three days because of how weak she felt. The sick feeling had started at the beginning of the month, she thought it was just her body telling her to rest since she has been stressed mentally for the past few weeks, with the whole drama of finding Violet, but since she missed her period last month, she knew it was way more than that. Now that she was vomiting too, it all pointed to one reasonable reason - pregnancy.

Georgia raised her eyebrows and sighed, "I thought so too."

"When?" Nicole gasped.

She shrugged, "Since your body started acting weird, which is why I brought along a pregnancy strip today." She reached into her bag and brought out three pregnancy strips.

Why was she surprised though? Georgia is a mother of two.

Nicole was quite scared of what she would find, even if she already knew the probability was eighty percent. When Alexander had mistakenly cummed in her, she had assured him she was on her birth control pills. He had been so relieved but when she got home, she had realized she had missed up to five days of the pill, not just two days as she had thought. She told herself nothing would happen and googled on how to make up for the missed days. She finally saw a site that told her what to do and she did, keeping her fingers crossed.

But when the sick feeling started and she missed her period, her worst fears came to life - the site had lied to her.

She gulped. If it came out positive, would Alexander accept the child?

"Come on, to the bathroom!" Georgia teased while waving the strips playfully in her face. Nicole took two from her and went to the kitchen to take a disposable cup which she had used then, to serve anyone from work who came over to her house and wanted a drink.

She went into the bathroom, forced her 'barely there' urine out of her bladder and into the cup - only got to a quarter of the 100ml cup. With shaky hands, she tore the covering off the strip and dipped it into her yellowish urine. She held her breath and waited as the first red line showed. She thought it was all over when in a second, the second red line didn't appear. But as if mocking her, it began appearing after a second, just when she was about to discard the urine and pronounce herself pregnancy free.

She groaned and put in the second strip. It did the same thing.

"Why does it take forever to show a second line?!" She yelled to Georgia in annoyance.

Georgia squealed and suddenly, the door to the bathroom flew open, "It showed a second line?!"

As if, she couldn't believe what she had just said, she took the cup from her to read it herself and her eyes widened in excitement, "Whoa, you're pregnant, Nicole!"

"You don't want to ask for who?" Nicole inquired.

Georgia chuckled, "If it isn't billionaire boy, who else?"

Nicole rolled her eyes, "Can we please not talk in my bathroom?" She asked while she took the cup from her and discarded the urine into the toilet. She pressed down the flush button and followed Georgia out.

"So, what are you going to do now with the whole mad wife drama going on?" Georgia asked as she plummeted on the couch while Nicole went to discard the strips and cup in the trash bin.

"That's the issue...I don't know if he's ready for this." She sighed and sat down beside her sister.

"You've got to tell him though." Georgia pointed out.

She nodded knowing fully well that she had to.

Nicole finally summoned up courage in the next two days, to go visit Alexander and tell him. He had been calling and asking to come over but she would decline and say she was at Georgia's, babysitting.

She didn't know why she didn't want to see him, it wasn't like he would be able to smell pregnancy off her. She didn't have to knock as the door was already opened. She hadn't called that she was coming and really hoped he would be around.

Should I have called? She asked herself when she heard the dead silence. She opened her mouth to call out his name, when the most amazing aroma hit her nostrils. It was coming from the kitchen.

She hurried towards it to see Alexander, with his sleeves rolled up, wearing tight fitted pants, hair covered with a chef's cap and an apron tied around his waist. He was in all chef mode today. He looked like he just came back from work not too long. She sighed, she could stare at his nice butt all day.

As if, deciphering that someone was staring at him, he turned and when he saw her, grinned excitedly. He left the spoon which he was holding and spread out his arms. She felt flustered for a bit before walking into his embrace. His muscular arms held her tight as he inhaled her scent.

"I have missed you so much, my love. Please, tell Georgia to find her own babysitter." He said. Nicole chuckled and leaned further into him, could anything be better than this?

"I missed you too." She said with the same loving tone.

"Where is Violet?" She asked when they separated.

"Upstairs, watching TV in her room." He replied and she chuckled. He continued stirring whatever magic was in the pot and she stretched to look at many chicken floating in the broth. Directly, it smelled even more amazing.

"What are you cooking?" She inquired as her mouth began salivating.

"Chicken tortilla soup, you will love it. This is my mother's special recipe and I decided to cook it because she's coming over from Chicago today."

Did she hear right?

Nicole's mouth gaped open, "Did you just say she is coming today?"
