Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Tony who Came to his Senses

"Jarvis, how is the vulnerability investigation of your system progressing?"

Tony asked as he entered his lab.

"Sir, several vulnerabilities have been tested, as well as the one that was compromised last night."

"Everything is being fixed, it is expected to take three days."

Tony took a sip of the green juice on the table and frowned.

He preferred to drink this drink.

"That's good, I don't want what happened last night to happen a second time."

The thought of what had happened last night struck Tony with fear.

Fortunately, the people who invaded his house did not want to do him any harm, but came to invite him to join some magical teenage league.

I think it was called something like that.

He couldn't remember.

But the other person's identity was familiar to him.

Director of S.H.I.E.L.D..

Also known as Colson.

"Get ready for work, Jarvis."

"I woke up this morning with the inspiration to create a new combat suit, for some unexpected situations."

"I need portable combat armor that is easy to wear and at the same time provides me with decent combat power."

"This combat suit is tentatively referred to as the Mark 5."

"The creation of the Mark 5 database has been completed, please provide the data according to your request, sir."

"It should be noted that with today's materials, striving for lightness will mean giving up many powerful weapons."

Tony's hands were working on the projection keyboard, designing his new battle armor.

"I know, Jarvis."

"This combat armor is designed for emergencies, it doesn't require a lot of energy."

"At least the next time these people invade my house, I'll be able to kick their ass."

Tony wasn't naive enough to think that without a combat suit he could match the director of S.H.I.E.L.D."

"Understood, sir."

Jarvis, being the best AI butler, could do almost anything Tony ordered.

He was also one of Tony's proudest creations.

Sometimes Jarvis could even chat with Tony like an old friend.

Like now, for example.

"Sir, how are your inquiries going about what you wanted to ask Mr. Alex?"

Tony finished his glass of chlorophyll in one gulp and said with some disappointment: "We must have gone crazy, he's just a science fiction writer."

"Many of his descriptions of technology come from his unbridled imagination."

Tony told Jarvis about his conversation with Alex last night.

"Wait..."

Suddenly Tony felt a hint of something amiss.

"Jarvis, did I just say something wrong?"

"If your description is correct, Mr. Alex mentioned the Ark reactor."

After Jarvis's reminder, Tony immediately reacted to what was happening.

When Alex talked to him last night, he accurately named the source of energy in his chest.

Keep in mind, these were technologies that Tony did not officially disclose.

People from the outside only knew that he had invented iron battle armor.

Only very few people knew that the main technology of the iron battle armor was the Ark reactor on his chest, which kept him alive.

What Tony could be sure of was that he had never revealed any information about this to Alex.

So how did he know the name of this thing.

"Jarvis, I think it's a coincidence."

"Writers are good at coming up with titles, aren't they?"

It was all Tony could console himself with.

Even Jarvis couldn't answer such mind-boggling questions without having a data model to justify them.

"Maybe so."

Tony felt a little sorry for why he left so quickly last night.

Really, it was impossible to sit somewhere and talk longer.

"Maybe it's really a coincidence."

Tony got ready and continued to design the Mark 5, continuing to model experiments with the new element.

This fuss lasted two hours.

It was only when Jarvis' voice rang out that he came to his senses.

"Sir, Miss Pepper is here."

"Tell her to come down immediately."

Without waiting for Jarvis to answer, Pepper's voice came from behind him: "Don't worry, I knew you'd be in the lab at this hour."

Pepper entered the lab and saw a projection in the air.

Tony turned in his chair: "It's a bit of a mess here, I'll clean it up somehow."

"What do you want from me?"

"There is a small discussion about where Stark Industries will go next.

"Discussion?"

"I'm all for it."

Pepper said indifferently.

Tony looked at the fruitless experiment with a new element and, calming down a little, said, "Pepper, how about this."

"We'll find a restaurant and talk while we have dinner."

"May I assume you're inviting me to dinner?"

Tony scratched his head a little embarrassed: "Of course, that's what I meant."

Pepper looked at the clothes she was wearing.

Women?

In such matters, special attention has always been paid to details.

Tony was going to tell Pepper that everything was fine, there was no need to change.

"It's still early, so I'll go upstairs and change."

"Is the room they left me earlier still mine?"

"Of course, it's always yours, and the clothes in it are all made to order."

When Tony first built the set, he specifically left a room for Pepper.

But Pepper never lived in it.

But even in this case, Tony still asked someone to clean it up in time.

"Okay then, you clean up your lab first."

"I'll change and come down."

Tony nodded, "No problem, I'm waiting for you."

Looking at Pepper's back as she went upstairs, Tony's eyes gradually became more and more despondent.

Then he opened the test box and pressed hard with his thumb.

10%!

"Jarvis, it feels like it's on the countdown."

"Sir, cheer up. We haven't finished our experiments with the elements, perhaps in the future we will be able to find replaceable elements."

"Maybe."

Tony knew better than anyone if other elements could be found.

He just didn't want to admit it.

"Jarvis, help me find restaurants with a higher rating."

"The setting should be beautiful."

"And most importantly, I want a private restaurant!"

"Understood, sir."

Tony glanced at the clothes he was wearing, "Maybe I should go and change into a suit suitable for a date, too."
