Chereads / The Dark Magus / Chapter 37 - Forced Alliance

Chapter 37 - Forced Alliance

The bald idiot charged for me, and I easily dodged under his slash before kicking him away. He crashed to the ground with a grunt but he immediately stood back up and lightening crackled around his sword as he activated a lightening based skill and ran at me angrily!

'An air mage,' I thought while looking at him blankly, 'He must be at least D+ rank if he can already use lightning skills.'

"Light of Viper!" the bald man shouted as he brought his sword down in a lightning strike and I was so stunned by it that I almost forgot to dodge. I didn't think that he would shout out the name of the skill! Blue lightning zapped across the street and raced for me, but I easily stepped to the side and avoided it.

He chuckled as he saw my stunned look, "You're stunned by my skill, aren't you!?" he gloated, "This is the power of viper! There will be nothing but vipers in the future! Hahahaha!"

[Black Bolt]

Bzzzttttt!!!

"Ahhh!!!"

The man shouted as he was hit with an intense jolt of black lightning. He was pushed back by it, but he just managed to stay on his feet as he slowly rose her head and chuckled, "Is that your trump card?" he asked, "You think you can win with just that!?"

[Black Bolt]

Bzzzttttt!!

"Ahhh!"

[Black Bolt]

Bzzzttttt!!

"Ahhh!"

[Black Bolt]

Bzzzttttt!!

"Ahhh!"

[Black Bolt]

Bzzzttttt!!

"Fuck! Wait!" the idiot shouted as the black lightning threatened to kill him. He felt fear in his heart as he desperately tried to understand what was going on, "How can you cast this many C rank skills!?"

"Did I tell you that you could talk?" I asked with a sneer, and when he looked like he wanted to say something again, I gave him a threatening look, "I dare you," I growled and he immediately put his hand to his mouth.

I walked up to Paul. He struggled to get to his feet with a lot of effort when he saw me standing in front of him, "T-Thank you for helping us." He muttered.

"Grit your teeth," I said while rolling my wrist around.

"What…?"

Slap!

Paul fell to the floor and held his cheek in pain as he cursed. He looked up at me in shock, "Hey," I growled as I leaned down and grabbed him by the collar, "What did I tell you to do today?" I asked as I rose my hand to slap him again.

'W-Wha –"

Slap!!

"Is that a fucking answer!?" I shouted in anger, "I said, what the fuck did I tell you to do today!?"

"M-Monitor the student!" Paul screamed, "B-But our gang was stopped by the black vipers, we didn't have any choice but to face them."

"Do I look like I give a damn, you fucking thief?" I asked before my voice lowered, "You're just a lowlife that I can kill at any moment I want. Don't think for a moment that this is some master-servant relationship. To me, you're nothing but trash with a pair of eyes and a mouth. So, when I tell you to report, you report regardless of what happens!" I sneered at him, "Do you understand?"

"Y-Yes."

"I can't fucking hear you!"

"Yes, sir!"

I tossed him away and looked over the various gang members that were littering the street with their bodies. Why were they acting like I killed them when I barely even hit them? "What the fuck are you all waiting for!?" I shouted, "If I count to three and you're still on the floor, I'll fucking kill you! One!"

The gang members started scrambling to their feet and they began to gather together on one side of the road. Most of them had black eyes or missing teeth, but I knew I didn't break any legs. Some were more injured than others, and they were finding it harder to get up, but I didn't care about bandits.

"Two!"

The injured ones quickly begged others to help them up, and before long, they were all standing in one straight line at the side of the street. Both the black vipers and Paul's gans were all looking at me in fear and I looked right at Paul and the leader of the black vipers.

"It's mid-noon right now." I said while looking at the position of the sun in the sky, "If I don't have news about that student before sundown, I'll find both of you and kill your entire family. If you don't believe me, then try me," I turned to leave the street, "I'm all-knowing, you bastards, and I'll use everything in my power to crush you if you test me,". After I walked away, the leader of the black vipers looked toward Paul, stunned.

"Who was that?" he asked.

"My backer. No - my boss," he said, "I know you're thinking of attacking him, but we aren't gonna survive it. He didn't kill anyone today, but that doesn't mean he won't kill everyone if he's angered. I've seen what that child can do myself, and he is a demon."

The bald man tightened his hand into fists before he loosened his hand and growled in annoyance. He wanted to get revenge on Jason by any means possible for the humiliation that he faced here, but the thought of his young son and daughter flashed through his mind and he didn't even want to imagine what Jason would do to them if he challenged him, "Fine," he man said before shouting out to his men, "Clear out Vipers!"

"Where the fuck are you going?" Paul asked in surprise.

"You can take this victory just this once, bitch" the bald man growled, "He won't always be there to back you."

"Do you think I'm going to do this alone?" Paul got in his face, and grabbed him by his collar, "You're coming with me, you fucking bastard."

I made my way toward the guild house after my confrontation with the bandits. It was only afternoon now, so there was still some time for me to dive into the dungeons today. Since I was already in a C rank, I didn't need a team to enter the dungeon anymore, so I was going to hunt alone for as long as possible. I got to the receptionist and she was surprised to see me there two days in a row.

"You want another dungeon already?" she asked, "Weren't you the one that just came yesterday?"

"Yeah," I said, "I'll take [Galeheaven]."

"Again?"

"Just give it to me," I said in annoyance, "Why are you asking so many questions?" the receptionist clicked her tongue at me when I said this. I knew she was trying to have a conversation with me because she was bored. After all, nothing interesting happens in the guild because there are very few adventurers, but I didn't have time to entertain her. She collected my badge and returned it to me with a stamped permit.

I looked through the tabs of my system as the Arcane Bird pecked away at the bodies of the wolves that we killed to get the crystals from inside them. With the number of stones that I've gotten now, I should be able to get ten thousand bronze coins as payment. I thought back to all the wolves that I had to leave behind when I was saving Terra and I sighed in annoyance. Those wolves would have also given me a lot of money.

There was no need to cry over something that already happened though as I stored all the crystals that the Arcane Bird collected before entering the dungeon boss room.

[You have entered the boss room of [Galeheaven]. You may not leave until you kill the boss.]

[The [Thunder Bird] directs its hostility at you.]
