Chapter 70 - Players

Ethan tightened his grip on his sword, eyes locked onto the approaching undead spearman. The creature moved with a jerky, unnatural gait, its hollow eye sockets fixed on Ethan with malevolent intent.

The forest was silent, save for the rustling leaves and the faint echoes of their group watching from a cautious distance. Mia held her breath, her healing magic at the ready, while Jolene stood prepared to assist if needed.

As the undead spearman closed the distance, Ethan took a deep breath, his heart pounding in his chest. The creature's spear gleamed menacingly in the dappled Light filtering through the trees.

With a sudden burst of speed, the undead spearman lunged forward, thrusting its weapon toward Ethan's chest. Ethan's instincts kicked in, and he sidestepped the attack with a swift, practised movement. The spear sliced through the air, narrowly missing him.
