[Chapter 4]
However, she went inside, and there she found a man in his early 30s sitting on a chair behind the wooden desk. He was one of the main shopkeepers of the village and would be the one to buy firewood from Chelsea at a fair price.
There were some other merchants as well, but they were very greedy, wanting to buy wood from her at cheap prices, and, well, they had disgusting gazes.
The man who was talking to another person noticed the young girl and immediately recognized her. He smiled warmly and excused himself from the other guy he was talking with, making his way towards the young girl.
He liked this little girl; she was very hard-working despite being so young. Honestly, she didn't even deserve to do this work. According to him, it was a man's job. But he couldn't help her. He was in a dire condition as well and had a family to feed. So the most he could do was buy her firewood at a fair price. The girl was quite regular and always carried good quality wood.
Not only that, he had heard that this young girl also knew how to sew beautiful and never-seen-before designs. So it was good to help her in the present and maintain good relations.
Moreover, she was quite cute and would definitely grow to be a beautiful lady. At that time, he could have her marry his son in the future. He would welcome such a good and hardworking daughter-in-law.
Chelsea was, of course, unaware of all this. She only knew that this guy was good and bought her wood at a reasonable price. To her, he was nothing more than a merchant who would give her some more money than the others.
She sold the wood and got two gold coins. The main currency used in the world was gold coins, nothing else, or a barter system where they would exchange goods. Fortunately, there was some currency in the village, and trade was easier.
Then, she bought some food, meat skewers that she liked a lot, and went back home. Upon reaching home, she saw her sister playing with clay toys. Chelsea smiled.
"Big sister! You're back!" Lily ran up to Chelsea and hugged her tightly. Chelsea ruffled her hair and patted her head.
"I'm back. I bought meat skewers today. Let's wash our hands and then eat."
Chelsea, even though she lived in a village, valued good hygiene. She taught Lily as well to always wash her hands before eating food and after playing in the field, and to bathe regularly too.
At night, both the sisters ate happily. The food was hard-earned, and both knew to respect their food. After that, Chelsea lit some firewood and warmed the house before sleeping together with her little sister in a makeshift bed in the small bedroom.
Months passed by with their life. Chelsea trained hard every day, training her imperial arm, Gaea Foundation. She slowly became used to changing her facial structure, and her raw power grew stronger as well.
Time passed, and she continued learning new skills to survive. She surveyed the forest daily, honing her abilities by understanding the terrain. She could go deeper and deeper now.
Her designs and sewing skills were becoming popular, as she had predicted. And apart from all that, she had convinced her little sister, Lily, to participate in training with her. It was easy to convince a child.
"What imperial arms will she have? I wonder," Chelsea thought. She wanted to know what type of imperial arms her sister would awaken.
If she wasn't wrong, there was something special about their bloodline that allowed them to inherit different imperial arms from generation to generation.
Chelsea had started using a wooden sword to train in swordsmanship. Unfortunately, she knew nothing about it, and there was no one in the village who was aware of the ways of the sword, so she couldn't learn from anyone.
She had decided that she would have to join either the Revolutionary Army or the Empire to learn how to handle a sword and become proficient in the future. She would still swing the sword every day to familiarize herself with it.
She didn't know if she practiced with the correct body posture, but she figured that she would learn it eventually. She could also try to learn about different weapons apart from the sword as well. So she was not limiting herself to one weapon only.
She was practicing with a wooden spear and a bronze dagger that she had found in the forest not long ago.
Her daily routine was constant and productive. At times, she just wanted to rest all day long, but she convinced herself that if she didn't earn, they would go hungry.
Four years passed, and now Chelsea was 8 years old.
In the forest, Chelsea was currently hopping from one branch to another. In front of her was a danger beast, specifically the four-fanged danger beast.
The four-fanged danger beast was a ferocious monster in the world and often hunted humans. It was the weakest of the danger beasts and one of the most abundantly found.
It was feared by many for its agility and raw power, but right now it seemed to be running away from an 8-year-old girl. That's right, Chelsea was currently hunting it down.
She had set a perfect trap to kill it, but due to some accident, it had escaped with a heavy wound. And now she was chasing after it.
Taking a spear out of a leather bag, she aimed it at the head of the four-fanged danger beast, which was currently running away very fast.
She took some distance and threw the spear. The spear had a sharp tip made of steel and stone. It was also coated with some kind of powder.
The spear went at a turbulent speed. One would not believe that an 8-year-old girl had such power to throw the spear so fast.
Swish!
