Chereads / Strongest Heir of The Fallen Gods / Chapter 13 - Sycophant Crab

Chapter 13 - Sycophant Crab

Crashing into the beast, Licht finally overturned its body.

Making it flail the legs around while being on its back.

KREEE

Another angry scream of calamity resounded.

Again and again, Licht threw his body back at it. All in hopes of flipping the damned crab.

With how hard the crab's shell was, he already knew it would take at least dozens of swings if not hundreds.

His strength and stamina stat did increase with training and fighting.

But they still weren't enough.

It was a gamble for his life and it had certainly paid off.

Picking up his sword from the ground. Licht hacked it at the 'legs' of the crabs. With every slash, one of the 'hands' fell off.

After some moments, only Lichts panting and low-pitched, pain-filled screeches of the crab could be heard.

Licht had sliced off all ten legs. The lower he tried to cut, the more effort it took.

The bone density of the hands became higher the lower he went.

Removing some of the flesh particles from his face, Licht murmured.

"Just die,"

THUD

Licht's legs felt weak. His feet were wobbling under his weight. Only with the help of his sword was he able to stand right now.

But it was getting harder for him to stand. He was feeling lightheaded as more time passed.

And the preparator behind it was none other than the-

'Parasite'

'This bastard had sent a parasite as soon the cut was formed in my leg,'

Picking the sword out of the ground, Licht raised it with all of his power.

His hands moved in a repeated motion, piercing the soft part of the crab's body again and again.

When he couldn't be damaged more by just piercing.

He switched to a newer approach. Holding the sword from its blade, he slammed the hilt into the crab, using the long sword like a blunt axe.

Purple blood splashed everywhere with every attack while bones and flesh splattered on the ground.

Licht's sanity was going away, but he didn't mind.

'I have to end this fast.....I..still don't know if that blood-sucking parasite is gonna die just after killing it,'

After several moments, Licht finally got up.

The crab was finally dead as a system notification rang to his left.

[You have killed a Sycophant Crab]

[It is noticed that you have killed it for the first time, integration is possible!]

[700 Calamity Souls gained!]

Ignoring it, Licht dropped the sword on the ground.

Abruptly, both of his hands touched his chest.

TEAR

Licht tore the dirty clothes he was wearing. Without even giving his old wounds even a look, his hand caught something.

Something was squirming in his chest, near his ribs.

The parasite was still alive even after killing its maker.

It was trying to get into his heart and tightly struggled in his hand.

Licht was scared, scared of it reaching his heart. He didn't have the guts to crush it alongside his skin or tear it through his body.

It was just a matter of time. If he didn't kill it and it continued to suck more of his blood, then he would become a husked corpse.

Butcherer's knife materialized in his hands, and with shaking hands, it slowly pierced into his skin.

'Ahhhhh, why is this so painful?'

The pain managed to sober Licht from his drowsiness.

Closing his eyes, he breathed for a few moments. Then without any hesitation, his hands sliced off the skin on the chest.

With the small piece of flesh came the wriggling parasite.

'Hah..hah'

'There...hah really one was huh..'

Taking in deep breaths, Lich applied pressure on his chest. Trying to lessen the bleeding.

But his mind still didn't forget the important thing he had left behind.

SWISH

His other hand had thrown the karambit at the parasite, killing it in one swift motion.

[You have killed a Blood Sucker]

[It is noticed that you have killed it for the first time, integration is possible!]

[300 Calamity Souls gained.]

'Huh? The parasite wasn't a part of the crab? It is as if, was it literally a parasite hosting on the crab?'

'This is too eerie at this point. I should never let my guard down.'

All of a sudden, blood leaked from the corners of his lips as he felt weakness course through his body.

'Ugh, I need a potion!'

His hand gestured through the air as he summoned the shop and started scrolling through it.

Browsing through the shop catalog. Licht bought the lesser healing potion and applied it to his chest.

After applying it for a few moments, he drank the remaining portion of it.

The potion didn't work immediately. It took a long time for it to work in a place with no flesh, and even it struggled to create 'flesh' to fill the gaping hole left by karambit and parasite.

He had applied force on the wound for god knows how long. Only after the pain receded did Licht lift up his bloody hand. What was left behind instead of the wound was a big scar.

After getting some rest, he stood up from the damp ground.

Walking with his sword as a support, he went to the opposite wall with slow steps.

Resting his back on the wall, he finally breathed a sigh of relief.

With the relief of the impending danger gone, Licht's eyes closed. His mind, going into a deep slumber.

'Or so I had thought..'

Licht's eyes opened as he peered into the strange yet somewhat unfamiliar realm.

The converging memory realm, that defined his roots and what he was today.

The place where his monster resided.

The place Licht thought he wouldn't ever see again.

Suddenly Earth below his feet shook, causing him to lose balance and tumble over.

"Well, well, well. If it isn't Licht Vanrir, my dear host."

A foreign voice sounded near him, as his gaze turned to the creature before him.

The being who was partially the cause of his current state.

Licht's 'Monster'.
