"Get out, Now!" Liam repeated, his voice even fiercer and louder. I walked up to him trying to calm him down, but he wasn't listening to a word I said.
"If you're going to keep defending him, then maybe you should leave too." Liam yelled at me and I froze momentarily. I knew he was angry, but he also meant those words. He's been cold towards me since the day I chose to return to Hassan, and he hadn't changed yet.
Hassan stood from where he sat, a sly smile vividly growing on his face as he walked towards the door. He held my hand before saying, "If he's going to get angry at a simple joke, then we might as well leave."
I glared at Hassan, shocked that he considered what he just said to be a simple joke. I pulled my hand away from Hassan's grip, not calmly, but not too roughly. He was my husband and I'd always stand up for him in times of trouble, but he had gone way too far with that joke.
