"Amelie Lodge, a simpleminded lady with a lot to hide." I murmured under my breath.
It was weird how someone like her had managed to get me so invested. She portrayed a free character, but I could tell she had a lot going on behind the scenes. Maybe it was my inquisitive nature as a journalist that made me so invested in her. All journalists were born with the natural ability to seek out secrets, that was one of the basics of our work. And looking at Amelie, I could immediately decipher that she had a lot of story to tell.
She didn't have much internet presence, so it was a little difficult to learn anything about her. However, I'd stumbled upon a video of her at a party, the launching of Tidal about two weeks ago. It was about the same time she came to Cairo, and after watching everything that went down, I could comfortably come to the conclusion that she was running from someone, probably the man who had been chasing after her.
