After consoling her they had breakfast together but did say a word and ate in peaceful silence as he said one is not to speak when eating--table manners.
When they were done Kiara volunteered to wash the plate and though he felt it unnecessary as she could just use the dish washer, she wanted to be helpful so he let her wash the plate.
She finished and went to the living room, she didn't bring all her things as she left some in the car because she was going to find somewhere to stay, she only took out the basic things hr needed like toothbrush and the rest.
Kiara who was in the huge sitting room could now admire it well now as the brightly colored light brought out the beauty..
C'mon why build such a huge house when only you live in it,she said to her self as she was now standing up but was startled to hear David voice from behind.
Am not alone now,he said and she but her tongue fot saying it aloud.
I didn't mean it like that, she said but he brushed it off.
It's fine,no need to panic,he said and looked around before staring at her.
I'll be busy for now,you can find me up in the study if you need anything okay,he said and she nodded, looking at her he had the urge to pat her head and he did so messing up her hair.
Heyyy, she screamed at him for messing up her hair, meanwhile he smiled gently before going up.
David found himself in his study, trying to immerse himself in work. He knew that Kiara needed some space and time to process whatever had happened with Sefra. He didn't want to intrude or pry into her feelings, but he also couldn't help but worry about her.
She was his girlfriend and though he was curious about what her relationship was with Sefra even though she once told him they weren't together,he still wanted to know at least what happened that made her leave the house in the night.
Sitting at his desk, he attempted to focus on the papers before him, but his mind kept drifting back to Kiara. He couldn't shake the image of her troubled expression when he had picked her up from Sefra's house. He knew something had happened, something that had deeply affected her.
he didn't want to be overbearing; he wanted to give her the space she needed.
With a sigh, David tried to redirect his attention to his work. He was a successful businessman, and his responsibilities demanded his focus. But his concern for Kiara was a constant presence in his thoughts.
As the hours passed, David's work didn't progress as smoothly as he would have liked. His mind kept wandering, and he couldn't help but think about Kiara. He was worried about her,
Finally, he decided to take a break and go downstairs to see how she was doing. He quietly made his way to the living room, where he found Kiara sitting by the window, lost in her own thoughts.
Hey,he said and she turned to look at him.
Are you done already?,she asked.
Kindda,I just wanted to check on you, do you want to eat anything?he asked and she shook her head with a smile.
Am good, thank you and you don't have to try so hard,am really comfortable right now,and am okay, she said and he nodded.
But just in case you need anything,he said.
Sure sure I'll find you to get it for me,she joked.
I never said I was going to get it for me,he replied back.
So then what's the need of telling you if I need something, she asked and he thought about it.
Okay I'll get it for you,he said and she decided to try her luck.
Right now am craving hotpot, she said hiding a smile.
Oh.,do you wanna go out to have it,he asked unsure of what to do.
Cant you make it here, she asked.
Umm I can't really cook complex dishes,he said as he stared at the walk behind her.
What a spoil show, she said and was about to go back to her room as she had finished playing with him.
Wait,he said as he held her wrist and dragged her back so she was facing him.
How about we go have hotpot for lunch,he asked nervously.
I was just teasing you,i don't really want hotpot, she clarified.
Could we still go out for lunch,he asked gently.
Such a sweet guy but her heart was a thousand miles away from him,she rushed it wasn't that way.
Sure, she said and he finally let out a sigh of relief.
As the afternoon sun painted the sky with hues of gold and amber, David decided it was the perfect time to take Kiara out for a change of scenery. He had wrapped up his work in the study, putting aside his business responsibilities to focus on being there for his friend. After all, he knew that sometimes, all you needed was a breath of fresh air and a change of pace to clear your mind and he was taking her to lunch.
He stepped out of the study and made his way to the bathroom, intending to take a quick shower and change into something more presentable for their outing. As he got ready, thoughts of Kiara lingered in his mind. He hoped that spending some time together outside would make her feelings for him stronger as he wanted their bond to be unbreakable.
When David emerged from the bathroom, freshly showered and dressed, he found Kiara in the living room. The sight of her took him by surprise, leaving him momentarily breathless. She had changed into a simple, casual dress that perfectly complemented her features. Her hair cascaded down her shoulders in loose waves, and her eyes sparkled with a hint of newfound serenity.
"Hey," she greeted him with a soft smile, her eyes meeting his.
