"Your mate sent me to fetch you." Henri, the scout, kindly explained. "I am taking you back to the fortress to meet him."
"Now be a good girl and don't shift and run off again. I am not here to do you any harm," he explained. "Do you understand?"
Dahlia let out her breath, and her anger deflated. She was too tired to fight anymore.
"I understand," she replied with a nod to the tracker.
"Sorry for earlier." Dahlia apologized. Her gaze fell to her hands. She stared at her fingers while nervously wringing them. "I was scared. That's why I bit you."
Henri chuckled, "That's not the worst that I have ever faced."
He held up his hand to her, and Dahlia could see the bite mark was only a slight blemish, but he was already healing.
However, she grimaced, seeing he was missing his last two fingers.
"That looks like it must have been painful." She commented, her eyes frozen on his missing digits.
