Dahlia felt a perfect peace wash over her, a contentment she could only have ever dreamt of. She couldn't ask for more of a better mate than Carter.
"Our mate is taking on the pain for us," said Rory, as Carter peppered Dahlia with a million kisses over her face and neck.
"It's time for us to make the change and shift, Dahlia. Even with our mate accepting our pain…it will still hurt. The first time always does."
Suddenly, she felt Carter's hands unfasten the buttons and ties of her wedding dress. He was removing her clothing, and Dahlia panicked.
"STOP!?" she said firmly, grasping at his hands, but he just swatted them away. Continuing to unfasten Dahlia's dress, "Why are you doing this?" she shouted angrily.
Carter stopped fussing with the buttons. He shifted his glacial blue eyes to meet hers, and explained, "If I don't remove your clothing, it will get torn, and you will have to return to the fortress in the nude."
