As Dahlia was about to walk away from the altar, Carter firmly wrapped his arm around her waist, halting her in her tracks. "And just where do you think you are sneaking off to?" He whispered, placing a tender kiss on her shoulder.
"We are far from finished here. The elders from the pack council have arrived and are here to bless our marriage. We will move to a private room for this."
The Duke suddenly appeared and held out his hand to Carter to congratulate him. "It is so good to see you both so happy."
"Thank you, Commander. This has been a long time coming for me." Carter looked for a moment like he was reminiscing on something from his past. "I almost thought this day would never happen." His eyes glistened as he turned to look at Dahlia by his side. When she turned to meet him, her eyes shone brightly, too.
