Hildie's eyes shook with fury at Faye as she posed the question. "Are you so foolish to sacrifice your child's life, for one who may not survive?"
Faye chuckled at Hildie's question, making everyone stare at her like she had gone mad.
"I don't have to touch a person to heal them. I only have to be near a patient to do it."
"You could bring the sickest patients to me on litters outside the Annex and I could heal them from a distance. It was something I learned from Friar Tillis in some ancient texts he found."
Hildie protested, "No, Faye, I won't allow you to do this!"
"As your friend and midwife, I will not see you do something so reckless. And I know your husband probably feels the same and would agree with me."
