The knight next to Faye was ordered by Sterling to capture her before she fled the keep.
Faye's eyes widened with surprise. Her heart raced like a frightened rabbit, its beats frantically echoing in her ears.
Before she could fully comprehend the situation, her feet sprang into action, carrying her swiftly away from the knight and the comforting warmth of the fortress.
With each step, the cool breeze of the winter night brushed against her flushed cheeks, heightening her senses and urging her towards the Annex at the training grounds.
The paladin's sabatons made an unmistakable clatter against the stone walkways of the fortress as he swiftly followed her into the night. Out of breath and exhausted, Faye dodged behind a corner and hid among a stand of shields near the training grounds.
