Curled up beneath an ancient sycamore tree, Aaron nursed and licked his wounds. It would take a few hours, but he knew his body would heal quickly.
Once he had regained his strength, he would hunt down his foolish servants and slaughter them. When he finished, he would move on to find Carter and Dahlia. He was going to make them all regret the day they were born.
Aaron closed his eyes, feeling safe because he was well hidden from the townspeople and they feared his wolf form. The men would dare not follow him, especially not into the monster-infested thicket. His eyes grew heavy with sleep. He shut them and tried to get comfortable. The burns and his missing toes were making his entire being throb in pain.
