Dahlia stepped out of the bedroom. She was nervous as she glanced both directions up and down the hotel's second-floor corridor. Her senses were heightened by the current situation.
It was Carter who warned Dahlia to keep an eye out for Allison's twin, Aaron. He had explained the man was dangerous and would not think twice about hurting her after what Carter had done to his sister, Allison.
Dahlia had no clue that her involvement with Carter would result in her doing such things.
With her body leaning over the ledge of the balcony, she fixated her gaze on the people below who were gathered, engaging in lively conversations and sipping on their drinks.
Since it was still early in the day, the bar had not yet filled up, so there were only a few people inside. Out of nowhere, the overwhelming scent of stale perfume filled the air around her.
The impish grin on Dahlia's face revealed she was well aware of the person behind the scent.
