Hearing the revelation made Faye's heart feel heavy in her chest. Her hands trembled while clutching her skirts. She was having difficulty swallowing past the lump that had formed in her throat as she tried to process the new information.

Now Faye understood why Sterling was so angry this morning at seeing the necklace and its contents. This was the reason he poured out his hatred on her.
