"This… an engineer?" She eyes the silk, she eyes the electronics dumped into a box.
"More than that, little lass."
I lean against the wall and watch.
"Then one of those… inventors… using mana and the like."
"Mhm… or I was until he came along and killed all my escorts. No one even knows I'm here."
"It wouldn't matter either way."
"And that means?"
"No one wants to come and save you. No one can anyways."
He narrows his eyes. There's a hint of some genius there. Like his mind was whirling in thought, piecing together the tiny dots and making a deeper picture.
"Something happened." He begins. "Something big enough that either the company I work-" He stops. "No, you don't recognize me, so it can't be my company."
Lily leans against the wall and looks on curiously.
"A rupture."
