My ears rang with the explosion. With blankets wrapped around my body, I startled and felt the warmth next to me stir. Her eyes blinked once, twice.
And then she sat up straight.
I checked the time.

In the night at that. I was ready to sleep. So- so ready. But ugh... someone had to just go and cause an explosion.
But- but when I stood from my spot to open the window and see what the hell is going on. I was greeted by fire. A burning sulfuric scent in my nose. I- I-
What the hell?!
"Wha- what-" I murmured. Lily stood next to me, her shoulders bunched in concern.
"I- I don't know." She would say. Her voice would stutter and we would be fine. I wanted it to be that way. Just an illusion of danger.
Reality oft isn't what we want it to be.
