I walked around the school hallways in a haze. My mind refused to settle down after what happened in the janitor's closet. I could hear my heart beat in my ears as my breathing increased. I pushed open the double doors taking the fastest exit of the school. I clutched my bag close to my chest as I spotted Kee, Jupiter, Jackson and Zack hanging around in the school's parking lot. They we're laughing at something when I reached them, Jackson engulfed me in a hug but quickly pulled away with a frown.
"Is that water on you?" My eyes nearly bulged out of their socket in panic.
"Uhm..some uh, some girl bumped me on the way out of the locker rooms." He seemed satisfied with my response as he led me closer to the group with his arm over my shoulder. They continued whatever conversation they we're having. I tried hard to concentrate but my mind wouldn't let me. I balled my hands into fists due to their uncontrollable shaking. I closed my eyes to try and calm my rapid heart but all I saw was his eyes. His icy gray orbs starring back at me. I could've sworn they shone under the dimly lit closet.
"Bloss! Are you okay?" Kee put her palm over my cheek and frowned a bit. Worried lines creasing her beautiful face. I smiled as best as I could and nodded my head.
"Just a bit tired from gym class, that's all." She hummed unconviced and looked at Jup. They shared a knowing look and sighed. I guess we're going to have another girls' night.
"You're adjusting well in school Blossy! I can see you've made friends already." Zack smiled, exposing his chin dimples that I've grown to adore.
"Oh! You have no idea." Kee mumbled under her breath as she starred above me and Jackson. I frowned in confusion comteplating what she meant by that.
"Hi guys!" At the sound of her voice, I internally groaned and buried my face in Jackson's chest. I inhaled his fresh scent and smiled a little. Jackson has got to be the sweetest and toughest guy I've ever met. He,out of all the boys I live with, has been trying to get me to adapt to the American ways. He taught me how to play ping pong, dart boards, table football and so much more. I can not possibly explain how lucky I am to have him. All of them.
"Just because your hiding your face doesn't mean she can't see you." He whispered as softly as his deep voice allowed him to and chuckled. I composed myself and gained the courage and looked up.
"Hey Alessa!" I greeted softly with a smile. She didn't return it but instead talked with the guys. From the looks of it, it seemed they knew each other well.
"Blossom can I talk to you for a second.... Alone." She added with a hint of anger. I gulped and freed myself from Jackson's grip. We walked a couple of steps away from them and she exploded.
"WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?" She yelled and I was a thousand percent sure everybody in the parking lot heard her.
"Huh?" Is it just me? Or I'm I making it a habit to look stupid during serious situations.
"How dare you ghost me for weeks without any explanation whatsoever. Is it because of Damon?" She asked in disbelief and anger. I opened my mouth to say something but she beat me to it.
"I thought we we're friends and had something real going on and then you go ahead and do this? The worst part is that you've seen me come to you but you always....ALWAYS run the other way." My heart ached with every word she said. Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that my silence and distance would cause so much pain to her. Sure, I missed her but not like this.
"Alessa I don't even know what to say." I mumbled softly looking at her glassy blue orbs. They shined with tears threatning to spill and my heart ached even more.
"I am so sorry! I didn't....I thought it'd be better if I stayed away after everything tha:-"
":-better for who? You or me! Because frankly you seemed to be doing fine and I bet if Jake hadn't forced me to come here and talk to you, you wouldn't have even tried to do the same." She scoffed and shook her head at me. I took her hands in mine and sighed.
"You're right about that:-" I tightened my hold on her when she tried to pull away. ":-but it's not because of what you think. I wouldn't have approached because you're Alessa Diamond. You hang out with the most...uhm, handsome guys in school and one of them is rude." Also, we almost kissed in the janitor's closet less than an hour ago.
"I wouldn't have approached you because I am shy, self-conscious and frankly, I thought you we're being nice to me on that day because I was with Damon but now I see that I was wrong and I am so sorry Al." I starred at her waiting for her response. She bit her lip and sniffled. She looked on the ground shyly but didn't say a word. I loosened my hold on her hands but she didn't let go. I smiled when she pulled at me and I took that as a cue to engulf her in a bone crushing hug.
"I missed you!" I mumbled in her hair. I pulled away and wiped a tear that fell from my eye.
"I missed you too little idiot." We laughed at ourselves and held hands. I heard clapping behind me and screamed in fright. Alessa laughed at me but never let go of my hand. I turned around and gasped.
Hayes, Jake and Ace we're standing there with little baloons that said *welcome back*. They erupted in cheers attracting everyone's attention and soon, the guys joined us. I filled Kee and Jup in on what had happened and disappointment is not even enough to describe what they felt towards me. It all disappeared as soon as she mentioned a sleep over.
"As in right now?" Jup asked in bewilderment.
"Yeah! My parents are out of town on a work trip and the boys are going over to Damon's tonight." She said. Kee and I looked at each other and burst in fits of giggles.
"Sure, why not!" Kee said.
"Are we allowed to sleep outside?" I asked recalling the last time I came home late. Kee burst in laughter and wiped away non-existant tears.
"Yes Bloss, we are." She dead-panned mockingly and I rolled my eyes.
"We didn't bring any clothe:-"
":-you'll wear mine."
"What about:-"
":-Blossom calm down. Everything's fine and I'm sure Jacks will be okay with us sleeping out. As long as we don't come late to school late tomorrow." I cast a glance to where the boys we're talking to Jake and Hayes.
"Okay, fine!" They erupted in cheers gaining the boys' attention. I looked back to where they were standing and locked eyes with Jacks. He smiled warmly at me. His blonde hair was tousled on his forehead making him look messy. I smiled back.
Kee asked...more like told him we we're sleeping over at Al's and he was okay with it. We got into Alessa's car and drove towards her house. Kaylee and Jup were excited because 'her place was in the coolest part of town' whatever that means. Every house or in this case, mansion looked beautiful no matter what part of LA we went to.
"Here are!" Al announced and drove through a long golden gate. I smiled once my eyes met the exterior of the house. It was so homely with the decoration of plants outside all forming a curvature shape along the roof. The wooden stairs leading to the front door reminded me of the castle back home. We walked inside and I gasped.
The inside was even better. The living room was so big it occupied the biggest part whilst the fully stocked kitchen sat on our far left and the stairs on our right. The huge and long 'L' shaped coughes we're a deep chocolate colour complementing the light brown colored walls and marble floor. Alessa giggled at my reaction and walked ahead of us. She slid the patio doors open and my eyes nearly bulged out. I now understoon why the girls said it's in the best part of town. Below was a swimming pool with floating baloons inside but the part of it was, there was a lake a few feet away. The city lights shone brightly in the reflection of the water.
"Welcome to my home."
I loved it already!
