Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Inheritance

"My attributes are weird. As far as I remember, my total attributes before should have been below average of 50 attributes. But now, I have at least 67 in total. It must be because of the skills in my panel," Sun didn't expect that he could access his attributes this early, but for Sun knowing and familiarizing himself with my his own attributes will have an advantages.

'But what are these skills and titles?' Sun thought as he focused and opened up the description panel for the active and passive skills he has on his System, as well as the Titles he gained.

"This... Isn't this broken?" Sun said, grinning after looking at the descriptions.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Passive Skill: Cosmic Absorption (F) [0.0%]

...

Reading the description of the skill put a smile on Sun's face. He knew that with this kind of skill, he would definitely reach his previous power much faster... No! He would surpass his previous self and ensure the survival of his race.

"What about the title? This should be related to the power I use when I return back in time," Sun said as he checked the description. As expected, the titles were even more outrageous than the two skills he received.

...

Title: Cosmic Traveler

Description: A one-of-a-kind title bestowed upon those who possess the extraordinary power to reverse time and journey across the cosmic expanse. The Cosmic Traveler transcends temporal boundaries, wielding their ability to turn back time and navigate through the fabric of existence. They alone hold the key to altering destiny and rewriting the course of history.

Title Effect: Enlightened Affinity with Cosmic Power

Description: The title "Enlightened Affinity with Cosmic Power" bestows upon its bearer an inherent positive connection to all elements. With this affinity, the user gains an instant and intuitive understanding of any element they encounter, allowing them to grasp its fundamentals effortlessly. Furthermore, the user develops a moderate level of resistance to elemental attacks, offering enhanced protection against the forces of opposing elements. This enlightened affinity grants the user remarkable versatility and adaptability in harnessing the powers of the cosmos.

...

"This title is truly extraordinary. Even a slight level of resistance can be crucial in any battle or situation. But to think that I will have a 'moderate' level of resistance is beyond imagination," Sun said.

He realized that this title was truly unique. Having elemental resistance is extremely rare, and the fact that he can effortlessly grasp the fundamentals of any element he encounters is remarkable. It meant that he could potentially replicate skills as long as they didn't have any restrictions or exceeded his mana capacity.

While lost in thought, an envelope appeared in the middle of his System. Sun was momentarily shocked as he had never seen anything like this before.

[1x Mysterious Mail]

- Would you like to open it?

- YES or NO

'This is new. I didn't know the system had a mailing function. Is there really a mailing system?' Sun wondered aloud as he hesitated before the message.

In an instant, a radiant light illuminated the room, shimmering with hues reminiscent of galaxies and cosmic wonders. Sun shielded his eyes, and as the brilliance subsided, he found himself face-to-face with an ethereal figure. His surprise was palpable.

"Who... Who are you?" Sun stammered, trying to make sense of the mysterious being before him. The figure stood silently, a projection suspended in the air, its presence both captivating and enigmatic.

A voice resonated from the figure, soothing yet commanding, as it began to convey a message to Sun.

"I am Aurelius, the Zenith Celestial! Some may call me a god, but I am merely a powerful being who cares deeply for my creation," Aurelius spoke, his voice carrying a mix of warmth and reverence.

Sun listened intently as Aurelius spoke of his interest in him, praising his bravery, attitude, and love for his people. The weight of those words filled Sun with a sense of purpose and determination.

"But I must tell you an urgent message," Aurelius continued, his tone growing serious. "If you are receiving this, I may already be gone. I have exhausted my power in a battle to seal Seraphine and his formidable subordinates."

Sun's eyes widened at the mention of Seraphine's name and the formidable power he possessed. He realized the gravity of the situation.

"I didn't expect Seraphine to break free so soon or harness the power of 'Chaos' against me," Aurelius confessed, his voice tinged with regret. "I am here to warn you that you may encounter a different reality upon your return. Time does not affect us higher beings, but while they are sealed, they still possess consciousness and the ability to gather their forces."

Sun absorbed Aurelius' words, realizing that the challenge before him had grown even greater. The upcoming dimensional crack would now pose an even more formidable threat.

"Never underestimate the power of a higher being," Aurelius cautioned, emphasizing the potential dangers that lay ahead. "But with greater risk comes greater rewards. Seize this opportunity to grow stronger, for I believe in your ability to overcome."

Sun couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by the immense responsibility placed upon him. He voiced his thoughts, seeking answers. "But Aurelius, if you're a god, why couldn't you foresee these changes?"

Aurelius's expression remained unchanged, but it seemed as though he anticipated Sun's question. "I am not all-knowing or omnipotent," he explained. "Although I possess immense power, there are restrictions imposed by this universe that prevent us from directly intervening in your species' affairs. We can only observe, even if we desire to assist you to the best of our abilities. This universe is unforgiving, and worse this universe is merely a fragment of a larger dimension where our existence holds little significance."

Aurelius continued, recounting the tale of his creation alongside his sister and their subsequent conflict. He spoke of her insatiable desire for power, consuming all they had created and even delving into the mysterious elements within the Void.

"You, Sun, possess extraordinary potential," Aurelius revealed, his voice brimming with confidence. "With my power, you can protect and uphold all that surrounds you. It is a power that has infinite growth, whose origin I have not fully revealed. But I believe in your capacity to wield it."

Sun felt a surge of gratitude and determination as he absorbed the weight of Aurelius' words. He understood that Aurelius had entrusted him with the fate of the universe and the task of stopping his sister's rampage.

As Aurelius's projection started to fade, Sun couldn't help but speak, even though he knew Aurelius wouldn't hear it. It was a vow, a promise he made to himself. "Whether you were just a recorded message or a conscious being, I am thankful for this chance. I will work hard to become stronger and fully embrace your abilities. This isn't a burden; it's my duty and responsibility to honor your sacrifice for our sake. I won't let it be in vain."

With the projection completely dissipated, Sun turned his attention to the System, eager to explore the newfound Ancient Cosmic Inheritance he had received. He knew that his journey ahead would be arduous, but armed with Aurelius' power and guidance, he was determined to protect all that mattered and fulfill his role as the Guardian and Solitary Survivor.

As Sun moved forward, he thought about his responsibilities he had and the tough obstacles he'd face. It wouldn't be a walk in the park, but with Aurelius' power flowing within him, he felt determined to keep the universe safe.
