I stood up, instantly grabbed the torch, and backed away slowly to the stairs. Fortunately, the chains constricted their movements, so I was lucky I didn't get pounced when they saw me.
What happened to them? Is this why I haven't seen anyone because they have turned into this? The way their unfocused eyes tremble and ferociously try to get away from their chains is just like the behavior of a demonic beast.
(Growing inside them? I can feel that their mana has been unusually distorted. Do you know how they got in that horrendous state?)
(Unfortunately, no; their pure mana is gradually giving way to some sort of dark mana that I can only feel from demons.)
Did this strange phenomenon start when the southern gate was attacked? For how long did they manage to keep them here? This is absurd!
