Having decided to visit the rest of the goddesses as suggested by
the pig, we decided to go towards the volcanic island Magrid again to
see Fire God-sama first.
On our last visit, we didn't get to meet Fire God-sama because we
immediately left to search for her Agent, that was Idiot Exa.
Since then, we'd went around to various places and met various
goddesses, such as Terra-sama, Turbo-sama, and Sinus-sama. I bet
that Fire God-sama was a goddess too.
On our second visit to Magrid this time, I'd make sure to get her
power without fail.
What came after that was of course to get the power of the last
goddess, the goddess of thunder.
Once I had the power of the five goddesses, my deification plan
would be completed!
――Whooooosh!
Anyways, after getting a small boat that was no longer used, we rode
on it to race across the sea using the Magic Art given by Sinussama.
It'd take a lot of time to reach Magrid by land, hence why I came up
with the idea of cutting straight through the sea.
Though I must say, as expected of the Magic Art bestowed directly
by the goddess of water.
Even though the boat was shabby, its speed became several times
faster than even cutting-edge boats thanks to it.
"At the speed we're going, we should be able to reach Magrid in a
few minutes," Porco said.
"Yes, indeed. Although we ended up having to backtrack to the place
which virtually was our starting point, I've learned a lot from the
journey so far, and I'm sure there is a silver lining in everything."
Rather, I may break down if I don't think so!?
I mean, I've now practically become the pig's caretaker!?
Just then.
"Incidentally—do you have a 'childhood friend', Saintess-sama?"
"…Childhood friend? Well, yes, sort of…"
The pig said such a thing out of the blue, taking me aback.
I do have one, and he's a wolf in sheep's clothing.
After ditching me, he's playing around with a lot of woman and even
trying to become a god—he's such a shitty blockhead childhood
friend.
"I see. Actually, I have one, too. We used to spar with each other a
lot, but… hahaha, I never won against her even once."
"Really? She must be gifted."
"Yes, but not only that, she was a hard worker as well. I also put in a
lot of effort so I could keep up with her, that's why I can be the way I
am now."
"I-I see."
The only thing you put in wasn't effort but weight, though…
What the heck's this pig saying… I gave him an exasperated look
inwardly, then I asked, "But why are you bringing that up all of a
sudden?"
"Oh, I'm sorry. Actually, if we continue on this route, we would pass
near my village after Magrid, so I was reminded of her."
"My, really? Then, why don't we stop by later?" I suggested.
"No need," the pig shook his head and said, "we're on an important
journey, and I'm sure she's doing well. Still, childhood friend is more
like a family than a friend, don't you agree? I mean, you can't help
but to care about them.
"Hahaha!" The pig laughed loudly. While smiling back at him, I
inwardly pondered over his words.
Childhood friend is more like a family, huh…
