Chapter 62 - Chapter 61

Travis asked her about the romantic poem assignment, and the moment he did, Mia blushed. It piqued his curiosity.

"What? Is there a problem?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

She quickly shook her head, trying to hide her embarrassment. "No, it's nothing. Just... recalling what I wrote," she said, her cheeks still flushed.

"Oh, was it that embarrassing?" he teased, his smile widening as she nodded, clearly trying to block out the memory.

"I really hated that assignment," she admitted before swiftly changing the subject. "So, what do you need help with? Finding a book?"

"Yeah, I need a book. Any recommendations? I'd prefer if you showed me the one you used, honestly," he said, leaning forward slightly.

Mia cringed at the suggestion. "Uh, it's just that my book is... a little graphic. I'm not sure if you'll like it," she said, looking away.

Travis smirked. "Nah, I don't mind. What's the name?"

After she reluctantly gave him the title, he got up and went to the librarian. To his disappointment, it wasn't Jane behind the desk today, as he had hoped to tease her again. The librarian fetched the book for him, and he returned to Mia's side.

"Got it. Now, what's so graphic about this book?" he asked as he opened it. The moment he did, his eyes were met with an explicit drawing of people having sex. He snapped the book shut, turning to Mia, who was trying—unsuccessfully—to stifle her laughter.

"You should've told me it was literal porn," he said, shaking his head with a smirk.

"I didn't know how to break it to you," she giggled, her amusement contagious.

Travis grinned, enjoying her happiness. "Well, doesn't matter. I'll settle for it, I guess. I should get going, though," he said as he stood up.

Mia got up with him. "Well, I'll see you later then," she said, spreading her arms for a hug.

Travis pulled her in, making sure to grab her ass as he did. Mia immediately scowled at him, but he just smiled innocently as he pulled back.

"See you later," he said, still grinning as he walked away.

He walked away, leaving Mia to sit back down, her mind lingering on the feel of his hand on her ass.

' I don't mind it, honestly, ' she thought, a small smile creeping onto her lips.

Travis headed back home, where he quickly got down to work, writing his French assignment. It didn't take him long, and when he was done, he stuffed the paper into his bag and leaned back with a grin. One less thing to worry about. Now, his focus shifted to Judith.

She'd sent him a message earlier, saying she'd be waiting for him outside the mall. Not wanting to keep her waiting, he rushed out of the house, excitement bubbling in his chest. As he made his way there, something caught his attention—a black car that seemed to be trailing him from a distance, creeping slowly along the road.

'Man, I hate these fuckers,' he thought, casting a glance at the black car before choosing to ignore it and refocus. He quickly made his way to Judith, spotting her standing in front of the mall. A smile spread across his face as he approached.

"Hey, Judith," he said, pulling her into a hug. She hugged him back affectionately, taking a second to breathe him in. It had been a while since she'd been this close to him, and she savored the familiar scent.

'I miss this,' she thought, a warmth settling in her chest.

"Hey, how are you?" she asked, stepping back slightly.

"I'm alright. What about you? I was thinking maybe we could catch a movie before heading to your place for donuts," he suggested casually.

"I'm great. Yeah that sounds cool! What movie do you want to see?" she asked as they walked into the mall, the doors sliding open with a soft hiss.

"I'm not sure yet, we'll figure it out once we get to the listings," he said with a grin.

She nodded, walking close to him. Her eyes flicked to his free hand, the temptation to hold it growing stronger. Sensing her hesitation, Travis made the first move, slipping his hand into hers. Judith smiled, her heart skipping a beat as she leaned in closer.

'He's so dreamy,' she thought, feeling her pulse quicken.

They arrived at the theater and browsed through the movie options. After some deliberation, they settled on one they both liked, bought their tickets, and headed inside. Finding their seats, they sat down and waited for the film to begin.

"I'll go grab us some popcorn," Travis offered, and within minutes, he returned with a bucket of fresh, steaming popcorn.

As he handed it to her, he leaned back in his seat, casually asking, "Do you want to do something else after this?"

Judith's response was immediate. "Sure! I've got the whole day free."

"Great," Travis said, smirking slightly as they settled in for the movie.

As the movie began, Travis quickly lost interest, his eyelids growing heavy before he drifted off to sleep. Judith noticed and smiled softly. She gently took his arm, leaning into him while munching on the popcorn, content in his presence. Time passed, and as the movie ended, she nudged him awake.

Travis blinked, looking around in a daze before his eyes landed on her. He grinned sheepishly. "Damn, I fell asleep. Sorry about that."

Judith shrugged, still smiling. "It's fine. You've probably been busy studying, trying to catch up after last month."

"Yeah, exactly. That's what I was doing last night," he said with a sigh. Then, switching gears, he added, "Let's go shopping. I really need some new clothes."

Judith nodded, and they exited the theater, heading toward the clothing store. Once inside, they started browsing through racks of clothes. Travis picked out a few things for himself, but he didn't stop there. He grabbed items for Judith as well, insisting on buying her a couple of outfits.

Judith's heart swelled as she watched him spoil her. It made her feel special, like they were a real couple—a thought that lingered sweetly in her mind. 'I wonder when we'll officially start dating,' she mused, her cheeks warming at the idea.

Meanwhile, Travis was focused on the task at hand, glancing at his watch occasionally.

'Twenty more minutes, then twenty more,' he thought, keeping track of the time as they continued shopping.
