The look Adelia gave him was unbelievably, painfully familiar.
Azel let go of her hand then cupped her face with both of his as he gently stroked her cheeks with his thumb. "Shh…" He urged, his expression wary. "Calm down, Dia. It's okay, I'm here, I'm not going anywhere."
Adelia bit the inside of her lip and stared at him uncertainly for several moments before she drew in a shaky breath and nodded slowly.
She didn't know what was happening, she didn't know what she had done, what she had triggered to make the attackers freeze like they did and thought terrified her to no end…
If anything, it only served to prove how strange she was, how much more different she was from everyone else around her.
She had done it in front of Azel and she would never be able to take it back… but she was safe...
