Garius wanted to yell; how was that even possible?! How incompetent could they be? How could they not know?
But deep down he instinctively knew that they must have tried their best. This wasn't a conclusion he had come to on his own, but a fact.
The priests of the temple had their pride, a pride that stemmed from their so-called divine magic.
It was almost impossible for the temple priests to miss what had caused a person's death or not to know at all. They were the most efficient in that expertise and that fact had put a bitter taste in Garius's mouth over the years.
After all, among other things, that efficiency in investigating the cause of death for dead bodies was what gave them their power and renown.
But right now, they were openly admitting that they couldn't find out what had caused this Priest's death.
A member of theirs for that matter… This was certainly a cause for concern.
