Adelia paused for a moment, her eyes fixed on Azel, and in the next, she gave an incredulous huff. He obviously wasn't capable of going through his claim.
She was sure of it and all she had to do was inconvenience him a bit and he would get fed up and let her down.
So she continued to squirm, kicking her legs and wriggling like said worm, much to Azel's amusement.
Azel let out a feigned exasperated sigh, followed by a sly smirk. "I did warn you," he said before finally releasing her.
Adelia let out a scream so loud that Azel was almost sure echoed throughout the entire castle. Her arms flailed helplessly in the air as she descended, but just before she could hit the ground, Azel's arms swooped in to catch her.
Adelia's arms instinctively came around his neck, wrapping them around it tightly and her entire form trembled as the rapid beating of her heart made its way to Azel's ears.
