"Indeed, my lady," Lyra affirmed. "No, we will not search for your pendant right now."
Adelia's eyes widened. "Why?" she asked, appalled. "I can't go down for breakfast like this!"
"Yes, my lady," Lyra agreed without delay, standing up from her spot on the bed. "You certainly cannot go down for breakfast in your current state."
"Then why won't you help me search for the pendant now?"
Her maid furrowed her brows. "I'm not just talking about the pendant, my lady," she elaborated. "You simply cannot present yourself to the castle in your current disheveled state."
Adelia pursed her lips. "Oh," she exclaimed quietly. "But… surely I don't look that bad."
Lyra gave her a disbelieving look, then she took Adelia's arm and gently led her to the front of the large mirror in her chamber.
"Do you see what I see, my lady?" Lyra asked.
