Emerging from his deep meditation, Midas gently opened his hand, revealing the enigmatic grey gravel-like sand he had been examining.
Noticing the subtle energy radiating from the grains, Midas swiftly stowed them away before he caused a major accident. He recognised those peculiar properties better than ever now.
The grey sand was seemingly innocuous, but it harboured a latent intent field that when unleashed into the world, sent the temperatures soaring. This was how they had melted the metal raft he had previously used to hold himself up back then.
The ability to inspire such high temperatures was certainly a disconcerting power for these mundane-looking grains to have. And yet reality proved itself once again to be a terrifying architect.
This was also why Midas stowed them away so quickly. He was not willing to burn down his Living Box because he let one grain slip away in a moment of carelessness.
