Midas, who was still a mere speck in the Vital Root of the Snow-White Dragon took a moment to absorb the weight of the Dragon Queen's tale. 

The cruelty of the Administrators, the callous experiments on her kin, and the looming threat of the unknown painted a bleak picture of the universe in his mind. Midas, despite his resolve and enmity he had with the dragon, couldn't help but feel a connection with the dragon.

They were both pawns in a chess game. All they could do was move in certain ways and entertain the players and spectators. Midas, being the control freak he was, hated that feeling. The feeling of having strings tied to his limbs and a chain around his neck.
