Midas thought back to the Poem he and the rest had found the moment they arrived. The second part of the Infinite Path Maze was called the Maze of Man.

Man's domain was a place "where heat and cold entwine", and after Midas saw that at first, he had assumed it would be a portion of the maze where they would be met with extreme heat and cold conditions.
It seemed he was not wrong. Midas was glad he had sent them forward because this moment of respite allowed him to prepare his people as best as possible for what came next.
When analysing the defences his people had against extreme conditions, Midas noticed three layers of defence.
