Did a cute little girl like this know words like these? Bruna was perplexed; she never expected such words to come from a probably nine-year-old girl. Just how did this little girl acquire such vocabulary?
"If you have more questions, come and let's find a place where not so many people are listening, and we can talk further," Amon scowled, his gaze directed towards a corner. Whatever had been there seemed to have disappeared now, although not entirely gone, even though nobody knew that.
Amon, Personia, and Bruna proceeded to walk down a long, wide corridor until they finally reached a pristine white door. Bruna carefully read the sign that hung on the door, which read 'Spellbinder Guild Room.' With a firm grip, Amon turned the doorknob, while Personia held his hand tightly throughout the entire journey. Their connection seemed so strong, almost as if they were father and daughter. As they stepped into the room, Bruna's eyes fell upon four figures—Leon, Roxanna, and Dorothea. The silence in the room was palpable; everyone understood that if Amon brought someone into this room, it was for a significant reason.
"Just ignore them and feel free to ask your questions. I'll answer whatever I deem appropriate," Amon's words resonated with the authority of a teacher explaining the rules. But from where did Amon had this character trait. It was no surprise, though, as Amon had inherited many character traits from his mentor, Thalos.
"How long has your guild been in existence?" Bruna wasted no time and immediately posed her first question. She was genuinely intrigued, considering the man in front of her was only nineteen years old.
"The guild is currently two years and eight months old," Amon responded calmly. Bruna couldn't help but express her astonishment, "Wait, if I understand correctly, your guild has been ranked in the top five for the past two years. How did you manage to build such a successful guild in such a short time? How did it grow so rapidly?"
Bruna's mind buzzed with numerous questions, but the answers seemed elusive. Nonetheless, she persisted, determined to uncover the secrets behind Amon's extraordinary achievements.
"Are you originally from another continent?" Amon's question caught Bruna off guard. She wondered why he would ask such a thing. Was it that obvious that she hailed from a different land?
"Yes, I am from Zephyria, a country located on the continent of Maravill," Bruna replied, her answer simple and concise. She couldn't help but ponder the significance of Amon's inquiry. Why was her origin of interest to him?
"On this continent, the Guild Ranking system used to be vastly different for a long time. It wasn't until last year that the ranking was revamped," Amon revealed, shedding light on the historical context. Bruna found herself captivated by his words, struggling to believe the stark differences in guild rankings between the two continents.
"Really? How was the ranking determined before the changes?" Bruna's eyes widened in disbelief. The event she had always taken for granted as normal turned out to be a complex revelation.
"Previously, the ranking was based on several factors. Firstly, the strength of the guild members played a crucial role. Secondly, the number of completed quests had a significant impact. And lastly, the guild's popularity among the general population also influenced the rankings," Amon explained. Bruna couldn't fathom the simplicity and complexity of the system simultaneously. While she eventually accepted it, she realized that different cultures and clans had their own unique approaches.
"For a considerable period, my guild consisted of only the twelve crest-bearers, along with a few individuals like Aiko, the head butler of the guild, and one other person. So, in total, my guild comprised just fifteen members, we only starded taking more people into the guild a year ago and since then we have a few employees. A maid squad and some butlers." Amon divulged, offering Bruna an important revelation. Suddenly, everything fell into place for her. With twelve immensely powerful magicians and other reasonably skilled members, the guild's completion rate and popularity soared. It became clear how a newly founded guild could swiftly ascend to the top five. After all, each of the twelve crest-bearers was at least an A+ ranked magician.
The guild was doing well, now you can add regular people to the guild and a few employees to make life a little easier for yourself.
"I believe you have grasped the essence of it now. If you have any further questions, I encourage you to send an official letter to the guild. I have pressing matters to attend to, so I bid you farewell," Amon gestured dismissively, as if shooing away an insignificant nuisance.
"Pfff!"
Roxanne and Personia burst into laughter upon witnessing Amon's display. It was quite amusing to see how a man who spoke to Bruna like that, usually everyone speaks to her with the utmost respect and when they don't then they simp like they've never met a woman in their life. It added an entirely different layer of amusement to the situation. Roxanne realized again that it was the right decision to get married to Amon.
"Amon, you should seriously consider a career in comedy," Roxanne managed to speak despite her fits of laughter, her efforts to restrain herself obvious.
Feeling disgruntled, Bruna stormed out of the room with a grumpy expression etched on her face. She couldn't fathom how dismissively Amon had treated her. However, as she made her way down the hallway, a voice called out to her.
"Hey, Bruna, the master wishes to see you," the voice sounded pleasant, but Bruna knew better than to be deceived. That whatever talked to her was many things, but "nice" certainly wasn't one of them.
"Fine, I'll go see that asshole," Bruna's mood plummeted to rock bottom, her voice dripping with darkness and hatred.
"Very well," the voice responded, seemingly unfazed by Bruna's animosity.
Suddenly, Bruna found herself teleported into an office, facing a bold man seated in a chair.
"What do you want from me, you filthy pig," Bruna addressed the man with the same disdain she had shown the mysterious voice.
"Should you really address your master in such a way," the bold man chuckled, clearly amused by the audacity of the so-called holy maiden.
"I despise you; do you think there's a single servant on this planet who likes their master?" Bruna wasn't technically a slave, but this man held power over her. As long as nothing specific happened to her, she would remain in that position. In her eyes, she was nothing more than a slave.
"You will infiltrate the guild Spellbander as a new member and provide me with every detail you can gather," the man wasted no more time on fruitless conversation and stated his expectations.
"Why the sudden interest in this guild?" Bruna had a suspicion, but she wanted to confirm if her intuition was correct.
"I still have unresolved issues with this Amon. He cheated me out of a valuable commodity, and that means a lot," the man explained.
Bruna's thoughts were confirmed. It was all about power and wealth once again. This pig only cared about those things.
"Only if you finally release me," Bruna yearned for freedom, to break free from being controlled by that despicable man.
"Well, that's how it should be. If you provide me with enough information, I'll let you go wherever you please," a wicked grin spread across the man's face, slightly unsettling Bruna. Nonetheless, she ignored it. 'Sorry, Mr. Amon, nothing personal. I just want to escape this hell.'
