Chapter 111 - Training With Kids

Day of Fratur, 11:43 pm.

Vivian raised her hand and aimed it at Torr's palm.

[Fire Arrow].

Woooh!

Sss…

"Argh!" Torr groaned as he bit down hard against a twisted cloth between his teeth when an arrow made out of flames burst out of Vivian's hand and shot through his palm, leaving a hole and burning its flesh before disappearing when it hit the metal slab.

His face was pale, he hed dark eyebags, his body covered in sweat, and his cheeks were sunken.

Felize and Gaze were sitting on his side and supporting him.

Vivian and the kids were once again at Graham's Lodge House.

They have been here since 6:30 p.m. after eating dinner and then rested for a bit before starting around 7:30 p.m.

"I'll be shooting the next one."

Vivian shifted her hand and aimed at Torr's wrist.

[Fire Arrow].

Woooh!

Sss…

"Arrrgggh!"

A hole appeared on Torr's wrist and he leaned forward, almost falling down to his face and into the metal slab, but Felize and Gaze prevented him from doing so.

I wonder if it's good to just let him lie down and tie his arm at the metal slab…?

Vivian shook her head mentally.

He might choke to death from his own saliva or whatnot…

Also, I remember a nurse I dated told me that if someone loses consciousness and was laying down, they should raise their legs…

But is it true…?

I'm not gonna lie…

That woman was a bit dumb…

Well, I guess that's why they say just because someone has a degree, even a Ph.D, that doesn't mean they're also smart…

That world has a lot of dumb people…

I wonder if the same applies here…

"I'll be shooting the last one and then heal you, and then we can take a break once again."

Ah, right…

It's not like I have unlimited mana so it would be pointless to tie him up…

I also can't let him fall asleep…

Oh Vivian, why are you so dumb…?

Kill yourself, bitch…

Vivian shifted her hand to Torr's forearm.

[Fire Arrow].

Woooh!

Sss…

"Arrrggghhh!"

A hole appeared on his forearm.

[Heal].

A faint yellow light enveloped Torr's body and cured his wounds.

"Okay, let's take a break. We will resume once I recover enough mana."

"Yes, Priestess," Felize and Gaze replied.

"Y-Yes... Priestess..." Torr replied weakly.

***

Day of Satur, 7:13 a.m.

The rays of the sun slipped through the windows, indicating that it was already morning.

[Heal].

A faint yellow light enveloped Torr's body.

His face was pale, his already sunken cheeks along with his dark and heavy eyebags became worse, he was covered in sweat, and he was being supported by Gaze and Felize.

Vivian glanced at the windows before returning her gaze to the kids.

"We will continue this later tonight and meet at the usual time and place later," she said and then got up.

"Yes, Priestess. And thank you," both Gaze and Felize said and bowed.

"T-Thank you… Priestess…" Torr said weakly.

Vivian nodded before turning around to pick up her things and head for the door.

She turned around.

"I will also order some breakfast for all of you."

"Thank you, Priestess, but since we've been out for 2 nights straight we promised our family yesterday that we will have breakfast with them every morning," said Felize.

"I see. Well, I have to go now. I'll see you all later."

"Take care, Priestess," said Felize and Gaze.

Vivian nodded and opened the door before finally leaving.

***

Vivian was walking down the streets and on her way back to the compound.

Should I sleep or not sleep…?

The other night she didn't sleep but was fine the whole day.

Last night, she also didn't sleep but she was more or less fine.

Next week is the Ranking Match and I have yet to properly level up my [Lightning Mastery] because I'm busy leveling up my Physical Arts during the day and at night I have to deal with those kids…

The memory of Marie donned in armor looming over her while holding the blade of sword against her neck flashed inside her head.

She gritted her teeth.

Shit…!

Motherfucker…!

That fucking bitch…!

Why didn't that other kid already have his [Dark Mastery] opened so that I could also learn that…?!

And to level up my [Light], [Wind] and [Fire Mastery] to Level 4 takes 500-1,000…!

Fucking hell…!

I'm really wasting my time…!

And I'm fucking bleeding money…!

The room was 2 gold a night so she had been using the gold coins deposited inside her bank account, not loaning.

Aside from the fact she wanted to keep things private, as an adult, she also couldn't bring herself to let the kids chip in with the cost or be uncomfortable.

Her pride as an adult wouldn't allow herself to stoop that low.

She shook her head mentally.

No, I already gave my word…

And plus, I could think of this as a long-term investment, especially with those 2 kids…

But seriously, next time, whenever I meet another person who could help me open a Magic Art Affinity, I should never ever agree to this kind of setup ever again…!

This was a big mistake…!

Well, at least this was a good lesson…

Like they say, you live and learn...

I just hope that kid will open his [Dark Mastery] as soon as possible before I find another way to open mine…

Yeah, that would be nice…

So should I sleep or not sleep…?

She thought about the new area she was farming.

Well, the monsters are stronger…

There's also stronger adventurers…

I really don't want to sleep but I can't risk it…

Perhaps if I have a complete set of armor to protect from poison and paralysis I can take more risks…

But seriously, why hasn't the kid opened his [Fire Mastery] already…?

Why did he have to wait for me…?

I mean, [Fire Mastery] can be opened by simply burning one's self right…?

Well, at least that's how I got my [Poison Mastery]…

Sure, he doesn't have [Heal] like me and it's not like he can waste so much money with potions, and there's also the fact about a potion losing its potency if you drink too many and you have to wait for days, weeks or months for potions to be effective once again…

But still, isn't he a boy and this is a medieval period…?

He should at least be constantly exposed to fire…!

Vivian recalled her childhood back in her previous world where she would play fire with her neighbors.

But then again, this body didn't have [Fire Mastery] even though this body had the Affinity and was 24 years old…

Vivian looked at her hands and rubbed her fingers.

This body's hands were already rough even before I entered it…

She must've been used to doing hard labor…

And there's also [Village Girl] listed on the Lore…

So yeah, definitely…

An image of her body wearing old farm clothes and working in the fields under a hot and sunny weather flashed inside her head.

"Haaaa…!"

"I really want to learn a new Magic Art so that I would at least feel better…!"

"So many problems!"

Vivian just realized that she had spoken the words inside her head and people were looking at her.

Ehem!

She cleared her throat and focused on walking back to the compound where the members of the Temple of Priests live.

So should I sleep or not sleep…?

Fuck it…

I'm going to sleep…

If I can…
