Chapter 2 - Do you trust me? (Chapter two)

Wyatt could of sworn he had heard a horse off in the distance, but that would of meant the guards were extremely close by. Why were they headed towards the pub? It was too close to the neighbouring village, which meant they would be drawing attention to themselves. Yes, they were looking for a criminal but it would cause mass panic amongst the villagers. Wyatt knew he had to leave but he was still stiff, Aslan stood two inches in front of him.

"Do you hear horses?"

Aslan questioned, in an confused tone. He had never heard horses this far from the town centre. Wyatt must of done something serious to cause the royal guards to stray so far from the palace. He knew he could be in danger but Wyatt seemed way too interesting to abandon. The young man, grabbed Wyatt by the arm not knowing the danger he put himself in. He dragged Wyatt into the pub, hoping and praying that the guards would not follow.

A few minutes later they got settled down at a table and Aslan called over one of the bartenders in order to get a drink, hoping it would ease Wyatt's nerves. He did not know how old the gentleman was in front of him, but he assumed he was at least old enough to drink milk. He asked the bartender for two mugs of beer, looking at Wyatt the whole time who was growing pale.

"He is 21, Bob. But he does not talk due to the fact he had his tongue cut out."

A big, muscular gentleman looked at Wyatt then nodded, going to pour two mugs of beer for Aslan and his new companion.

"So he is the one who has been causing trouble?"

Bob muttered, placing the slightly gross looking beer on the table.

"He is a lot younger than the stories. Are you sure someone like him should be hanging around someone like you?"

Aslan passed Wyatt a mug, turning his focus onto Bob.

"Why would he not be?"

"You did not hear? Somebody matching his description is wanted alive by order of the king. He committed murder."

Aslan's eyes grew big. He grabbed both mugs, downing them then grabbed Wyatt, picking him up. He knew Bob would not rat him out but he did not recognise some of the people on the pub. As he ran outside, Wyatt on his shoulder, he noticed the place was surrounded. He placed Wyatt down, looking him dead in the eyes.

"Do you trust me?"

He said, his blue eyes almost turning to black.

Wyatt nodded.

"If you can save my life, then I will."

And with that, a flame appeared in the palm of Aslan's hand.
