"That's the water she used to bath?" he asked Mabeth.
She nodded. Now, there were tears in her eyes. She felt she was to blame for everything and was already thinking of saying goodbyes to her friends since she would be killed soon. Mabeth knew that was what awaited her if anything were to happen to the mistress.
The physician crouched in front of the bath basin, took out a pen from his pocket and dipped it into the water. He brought the pen close to his nose and took a long drag of the smell of the water. It was exactly what he feared. He had worked with the corpses of the infected vampires long enough to know when something related to them. The doctor remained there thinking about what to do.
He rose to his feet and hurriedly walked back to where the noble was with Eliza. "Sir Albert…" the physician said in a low tone. He stood so close to Albert to convey his concerns with a serious look on his face.
