Zuri didn't leave her room even though she had woken up later that night -- not being able to sleep again while the palace bubbled outside her doors. She recalled that the queen had asked her to come to her quarters but honestly, Zuri didn't feel up to it and at this point, she didn't care what the Queen would do to her.
Pushing that out of her mind, Zuri heard another knock on her door as she dragged herself up and walked to open it.
"What's wrong with you, Zuri?" Kathy asked as she walked in staring at Zuri's back. She could feel the gloomy atmosphere in the room and couldn't help but feel guilty about what she had told her.
"You've seen them, haven't you?"
"I don't want to talk about that, Kathy…" Zuri replied. "Where's Sandra by the way?" she asked. "It's rare seeing you alone…" Zuri added with a small smile she had struggled to plaster on her face.
