"You do not want to know…" Jaden said as he adjusted himself to make room for Jessica to sit on the bed that he was.
"Khad…"
"My prince…" Khad said bowing down all the way to waist level. The relief he experienced couldn't be put into words, and he felt lucky that the prince was alive and well.
"That injury on your shoulder," Khad said as he picked up a scent with his extra sensitive nose.
"Yes…"
That was when Jessica noticed the injury as she had just been fixated on the fact that she'd seen Jaden and Zuri alive. All kinds of thoughts had crossed her mind about them. She wiped her eyes and shifted closer to her brother.
"What caused this?"
"This was why I couldn't return to the palace…"
"It smells like…"Khad began but he had an unsure look on his face as his brain tried to process the familiar stance. He'd perceived this somewhere before but it wasn't as strange as the one he'd smelled.
"What?" Jessica asked.
