Later that night, Jaden was snoring beside Stephan. It had been a while since the prince had seen such peace to grab some sleep. He didn't understand why Stephan wanted to keep a vigil, but at the same time, he was glad for that. So he grabbed the opportunity to catch some sleep.
Stephan sat watching the window. He liked what he saw in the skies and the humming of the music coming from the church. He started to think maybe he had rushed into concluding about the people of Fallspire. It seemed so peaceful here and Stephan was beginning to relax. The sounds from the owls were like music to his ears. The crickets' chirping wasn't muffled by other sounds -- it came clearly to the prince's ears.
At nights in Transmere, you would hear people talking and walking in the hallways of the palace. In the mornings, some people still moved around. Vampires didn't need much sleep to function so there was almost no quiet moment in the palace or the town for that matter.
