Chapter 1 - Prologue

A certain brunette paced through the halls, heading to the throne room since her so-called husband wished to see her. Honestly, if it weren't for her children, she would have divorced that horrid man by now.

The large oak doors opened, revealing her presence as she bowed to the emperor. "Yes, Daegal? What do you need?" she asked, forcing a smile as her hands folded.

"Our marriage has been annulled. You are of no use to me anymore," Daegal stated nonchalantly.

"The throne is my birth-right. If anyone should step down, it's you."

Despite his foolishness, she didn't move a single muscle and just stood there, awaiting his response. No matter how much he wished to keep the throne without her, he must have realised he couldn't do so.

"Guards, throw this woman into the latrines," he ordered. "What do you think you're doing?!" she yelled, trying to break free from the guards' grip.

"Doing what I should have done a long time ago, Honora," Daegal hummed.

"You'll regret this one day," Honora informed, before disappearing into thin air, leaving no trace of her presence.

What did she expect from that man? It was a good thing her mana was still intact. If she was going to leave, she would do so with her kids. She rushed to their rooms, hoping they both were safe.

Honora pushed the door, and the sight in front pleased her. Two children playing with each other; babbling nonsense with genuine joy. It was a shame that all good things had to come to an end.

A short noirette caught sight of her and started smiling and giggling. "Mama, come and play with us! I need help winning against Leoric!" she exclaimed, gesturing to some rope.

"We can play later. Mama has to go somewhere, and she wants you two to come with her."

The two youngsters looked at each other, confused. "What about Papa?" Leoric asked, tilting his head a bit.

"I'll tell you later, okay? But right now, listen to Mama and come here," Honora instructed, holding out both of her hands.

Once they were all holding hands, Honora closed her eyes, and they vanished in an instant.
