Chapter 11 - Chapter 11 He Acted Recklessly

Evelyn showed no emotion in her eyes as if she regarded Charles as a stranger.

But there indeed wasn't much interaction between the two of them.

They were only classmates in middle school, and the words they exchanged didn't exceed five sentences.

So Charles couldn't figure out why Evelyn would harm him.

"So, you and he were actually deliberately playing me back then? What did I do to you that made you want to trick me like that?"

Charles couldn't understand what he had done back then.

So he looked at Evelyn again and asked, "I hope you can give me a reason why you did this."

Although he had the fortune of meeting Master Hall during his three years in prison, it was true that he was imprisoned for no reason.

Now it was the engagement banquet of the Wilson and Thompson families, and almost all the guests present were business tycoons.

It was originally a lively event, but suddenly someone interfered and caused trouble. Anyone would feel uncomfortable.

Edward admired Henry the most, and when he saw Evelyn being wronged, he wanted to go and find trouble with Charles.

Besides, he had been slapped before and wanted to regain his face.

Just as he was about to speak, he saw the cold killing intent in Charles' eyes.

He could not help but shiver through his bones.

He took two steps back at first but then felt that it was very embarrassing to do so.

Bracing himself, he grabbed the wine bottle next to him and smashed it towards Charles' head.

"Crack!"

The strength was too strong, and the wine bottle shattered on the ground.

However, it wasn't Charles who was hit, but Edward.

He picked up the wine bottle in front of all the guests and hit himself hard on the head.

Before he could react, he passed out.

Everyone was stunned and didn't know what had just happened.

Only two elders in the corner had their pupils suddenly shrink, then looked at each other with horror in their eyes.

The old man with a goatee wanted to stand up but was stopped by his companion. "Wait and see, maybe we read it wrong."

"Is it a problem? Let's go over and see if that kid has any silver needles on him."

Just as the two elders as they prepared to move, a dignified middle-aged man rushed over.

When he saw Edward lying on the ground with his head bleeding, he immediately shouted, "Quick, find the doctor!"

The middle-aged man's name was Robert Wilson, the eldest in the Wilson family and also Henry and Edward's father.

Every move he made emitted an aura of a superior person, making many of the surrounding guests nervous subconsciously.

Everyone in the business world knew that Robert was ruthless and would do anything for his projects.

"Who did this?!" Robert suddenly yelled.

But no one at the scene answered.

To be precise, what happened just now was quite strange, and no one knew how to answer.

In the end, it was Charles who calmly smiled and said, "He did it himself by being reckless and hitting himself with a bottle."

"What did you say?!"

Robert's eyes seemed as if they could kill.

Charles's intuition told him that this person must have been involved in many murders.

The dark aura swirling between his eyebrows indicated that retribution might befall him within half a year.

"Mr. Wilson, what he said is true. Edward indeed acted on his own."

Unexpectedly, it was the young heiress of the Thompson family who spoke up for Charles.

The icy and intimidating beauty, who made people hesitant to approach her, was now standing up for a worthless man who had just been released from prison.

This puzzled Tom and made him envious at the same time.

Henry, without showing any emotion, stared at his fiancee and remained silent.

In his eyes, Charles was like an ant on the roadside, and he himself was the superior human being who couldn't be bothered to step on him even if he saw him.

His task for today was to finalize this engagement.

"Evelyn, how can you speak up for an outsider?"

Robert was somewhat displeased, but he didn't say much in front of so many people.

Unexpectedly, Evelyn continued, "Mr. Wilson, you know I'm a straightforward person."

Robert pushed his glasses and motioned with his hand.

Suddenly, dozens of bodyguards rushed in from outside, each of them glaring fiercely at Charles.

"Today's engagement banquet might become a spectacle. But there is someone who dares to bully the Wilson family, I have to take action." Robert said.

The engagement banquet between the Wilsons and the Thompsons was a top event in the Starbain business world.

Including many people from other cities that were highly interested in this matter.

However, no one expected someone would dare to cause trouble in public.

Many reporters frantically pressed the shutter, ready to write sensational headlines.

Because of this, Robert couldn't afford any mishaps. He ordered one of the bodyguards to throw Charles off the hill of the Wilson estate.

The old man with a goatee couldn't sit still. He suspected that Charles, who was causing trouble, might be from the same place as them.

And Charles's seniority and power even far exceeded theirs!

The gray-haired old man beside him quickly reminded him," Wait a little longer. The senior seems to be fearless and doesn't need our help."

"Because he doesn't need our help, that's why we should step in. Maybe we can build a good relationship with the senior!"

While the two elders were talking, Evelyn suddenly glared at Charles. " Aren't you going to apologize to Mr. Wilson?! "

Charles found this request inexplicable.

He reached into his pocket and pulled out five silver needles.

By now, he had mastered the art of piercing with silver needles. Dealing with these dozen bodyguards was a piece of cake.

"Let me see who dares to touch him."

At that moment, a dense group of men dressed in black suits appeared outside the Wilson mansion.

Only the leader wore a white suit and had a cigarette in his mouth.

Some recognized the identity of the newcomer and turned pale in fear.

There were even people who quickly stepped back, trembling as if they had encountered a plague.

No joke, the visitor was none other than Mr. White, a renowned underground boss in Starbain!

Robert's face slightly changed. "Mr. White?"

Even if he was ruthless, he couldn't be more ruthless than the real underground leader.

Moreover, the Wilsons often needed to maintain a good relationship with the Whites to progress in the business world.

Seeing Brian's arrival, Robert sneered at Charles. "It seems like you're quite adept at stirring up trouble and making enemies everywhere."

Unexpectedly, Brian extinguished his cigarette and approached Charles voluntarily.

Then, in front of everyone, he soberly said, "Young Master, take a break for now. Leave the rest to me."
