Chapter 7 - CH 7: Adapting

-------A/N: ANNOUNCEMENT TO EVERYONE READING, I JUST WANT TO INFORM YOU THAT THE PREVIOUS CHAPTERS HAVE BEEN REVISED, I AM ALSO HAPPY TO INFORM YOU THAT INCONSISTENCIES TO THE PLOT HAS BEEN ELIMINATED WITH THE REVISION----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A month has already passed since he settled himself in Mina's house within this village named Hokori.

His daily routine was mostly wake up in the morning to eat whatever he or Mina made for breakfast, have a simple paper chat with the peculiar Mina, sometimes go outside to make some connections, but most of the time he spent his daytime going to the woods to either train his techniques/create new ones or hunt for food or both. When the golden-red sun came down, he would come back home to bring back whatever he was able to hunt down, sometimes there was bear meat, boar meat, chicken, some edible berries, and even fruits from trees high up from their canopies. He and Mina would then use the power of teamwork to create something tasty and delicious from his hunts for dinner, sometimes he would even share their food with the other villages, earning the villagers' respect when it comes to making delicious foods.

He would say that his life with Mina could be compared to that of a husband and wife, and that is what the villagers also thought, though for him, he would always blatantly try to disprove their rumors. Mina was not bother by it though, he could even say that she was happy by it, but for him, he was neither angry nor happy about it, he just didn't want these villagers to inconvenience him and his training by always bugging him about marriage whenever he would walk amongst them inside the village, what mattered to him most was the upcoming reign of Kaguya which he defines as a bad thing for both him and all the normal humans of this world.

Because based on the anime, she would soon turn into a tyrant from the stress she will inflict upon her self due to her fear of her relatives coming back to check up on this planet. Her solution of turning millions of humans into White Zetsus was not something he agreed with Kaguya, though that route did sound logical and even ingenious. But he knew that there was tons of other ways in order to fight back against her clan than to turn many humans into mindless biological robots.

One solution he conceptualized was for her to try to rally and convince the many of this planet's mysterious magical beings against her clan, these creatures being monsters and demigod-like entities such as or similar to Moryo the Demon, Satori of the Box of Ultimate Bliss, the being behind the Ryuumyaku chakra, and the many sage regions like the Shikkotsu forest, Myooboku mountain, the Ryuuchi cave and more other undiscovered and unidentified places where sentient animals bathing in natural energy reside, who, by the way, were all confirmed to have existed way before the Ootsutsuki's arrival to this planet on the anime.

He wondered if either she was not aware of these things existing or is it just that she was too prideful to try to convince these other powerful creatures that most if not all might have the same level of power as her, or she had already tried but failed to convince them thus turning her against them, maybe even killing some of them or even ordering her sons to either seal or kill some of them to minimize the threats within this planet that were against her rule. He contemplated on whatever will happen from one of these three, but he could not stay contemplating for long as he was not really going to be excluded if the third one became true.

And so he rested his mind and focused on his training and his lifestyle in this peaceful village.

Gradually, as he made this village his new home, he finds himself becoming friends with almost all of the villagers here, though, he was still very much closer to Mina, the lady of the home he was living in.

Though he could've just used his powers to order Mina and the other villagers around and become the ruler of this village, he didn't want to do that, what he just wanted was to focus on his ongoing Dojutsu training.

He has made some progress towards Sukunahikona that was shown when he could now shrink a small piece of rock, but when it came to his Daikokuten, there was still no progress. He figured that maybe he'd need some form of theory comprehension in order to fully master this power of his.

Sometimes he had even wished that the original Isshiki's soul should've remained and at least gave him some of his memories regarding his abilities, but no, he chose to try to outsmart the God who gave him a chance of retribution, and now here he is pay for it.

Regarding his anxiety attacks when it comes to the thought of Kaguya suddenly appearing in front of him one day and obliterating him without a word, he could actually completely control these emotions because of his powerful lineage, though, sometimes he chose not to as to not run away from his fears and to further motivate him to find a much more better solution for his upcoming conundrum.

As for his true form accidentally getting revealed in the village, fret not, as he already has a solution for that. And that is Genjutsu, he is now using a wide-scale Genjutsu technique he created that he calls [Illusion Art: Mass Hallucination], as for the hand seals, he didn't need any because of his perfect chakra control.

This self-made technique of his gave him the power to disperse a wide range of Yin release chakra that will affect everyone's senses within the range. One drawback is that the hallucination must be specified and concentrated at one thing, and he made that one object himself, making him appear as his Horin Isshiki form all the time without needing to start and dispel the technique. Another aspect was that the range of the technique will always follow the caster, meaning, as soon as he leaves the village, the villagers will become unaffected by his technique.

When it comes to his chakra, he found out that he still has a lot of it, he'd say that he could keep this wide range illusion for 3 years or so without stop, and even if he uses his chakra for his trainings.

-----A/N: If you are wondering why my narration sounds like he has a limited amount of chakra, because he does, i have nerfed the Ootsutsuki of this world. Though arguably, it is reasonable for them to be so, because if we put aside their purpose to evolve, why would they even make an effort to suck the chakra from planets and even powerful individuals such as Naruto if they could replenish their reserves (Yes my thoughts are debatable so come at me). This just shows that even though they have a nearly-infinite chakra reserves and coupled with their perfect chakra control, they were not give the replenishing abilities that the earthlings should uniquely have for their advantage against the Ootsutsukis.-------

He was very sad because unlike humans, he didn't have the ability to replenish his chakra reserves, he could only thank the original Isshiki for having an astonishing amount that he could frivolously consume for a long time. Although he is quite remorseful for the planets that the original Isshiki had to plunder to get this amount, he was still thankful as he is reaping the benefits for his own survival.

In regards to this, he would not consider himself an entirely good person, though he wouldn't also consider himself purely evil, he would just like to see himself as himself, a normal grey-area person who is just willing to save himself from death no matter what it takes. He knows that it is indeed evil to take advantage of the deaths of countless of lifeforms for his own gain, but what could he do about that now that it is done, this might sound like a good excuse for others, but ultimately he could not leave the essence made from the deaths of these planets to be wasted just because of a moralistic hesitation.

----

"hmm..."

Isshiki grunted as he was in a meditative pose in the middle of a clearing surrounded by towering giant trees.

He is currently meditating his chakra and trying to develop some form of technique that will give him the ability to replenish his chakra.

He found this drawback very disappointing because he had thought that he was already powerful enough, what made him more sad was that he couldn't even access the premature Ten-Tails residing within his eye's pocket dimension, in order to do so, he would need to know how to use the god-forsaken technique. Because it just so happens that this technique might have something to do with physics, a field of science he truly hated.

Funnily, even as a renowned scientist, he has a branch of science he sucked at, because there was just too much overthinking and overcomprehension that this field required and that didn't really suit him much. He found both Robotics and Genetics surprisingly more attractive than the more abstractual parts of science like Chemistry, Physics and yes of course, Mathematics.

Robotics only required imagination and the will to actualize them which was essentially him, the art of making something non-living become something akin to a living being gave him a refreshing feeling. While the field of Genetics mostly needed imagination and you guessed it, comprehension, though he could say that he hated Physics because he needed to understrand too many things like how things should work and how they mathematically and theoretically work, for Genetics, he would say otherwise, being able to help humanity by helping improve the field of medicine and even studying the realm of genetic manipulation that might someday give humanity the cure to their self-considered defects, gave him the feeling of being in control and the feeling of godliness.

Those core emotions drove him to fuse the two fields into creating both of his most prized invention, the NeuroChip and the SUPREMA.

Fundamentally, the NeuroChip's functions mostly had the intent to do something with the surging hyperrealism that was plaguing his previous world through the decade-long internet craze. This brain chip in its prototypical form functioned like a smartwatch with little-to-no complex functions, only giving out news, the date and time, the weather forecast, calculator, clockworks such as a timer, an alarm clock, and even healthcare checks like vitals graph, systematic physical exercise advising like counting the amount of steps taken daily, checking the heartbeats per minute, checking the individual's bloodstream components, signs of fatigue and even some simple hormonal, physical and mental checkups and diagnoses for diseases and disorders. All of this conveyed within the users own visual senses with no one other than them ever noticing that they are looking at a digital interface within their own brain. It is kind of like those systems from webnovels and webtoons that he occassionally read out of boredom, where there was this AI-controlled system interface that shows the user's stats, health, and even their inventory's items real-time, but in a simpler way. Basically, the chip is surgically transplanted into a certain part of their brain.

He also further tried to upgrade the NeuroChip to function similar to a smartphone to have more complex features such as being able to browse the internet, talk with others through digitally conveted neuro-messaging and more. He also had a far future plan to upgrade the chip that will have the ability to modify and enhance the possessing individual's genetic code to either boost their health or upgrade their capabilities . But unfortunately, he could not create and proceed to plan for these upgrade because he died before he could do so.

------A/N: As for SUPREMA, it was explained in Chapter 3: Waking up as Isshiki, sorry im too lazy to say shit here----------

After his unsuccessful attempt to generate Chakra, he proceeded with his Ninjutsu and Taijutsu training.

As for his Taijutsu, he recently found a book from his mindscape library that shows a time when he was in a Business trip in Japan, in the book he found himself joining a Dojo with the intent to witness and experience the art of Jiu-Jitsu.

-------FLASHBACK TO A YEAR BEFORE HIS DEATH--------

Raymond is seen walking in a narrow neighborhood road by himself.

Normally, he will be found accompanied by some body guards who could serve as deterrents for assassination attempts in case one happens. Raymond is an important person and he himself is aware of that.

But it seems that this time, he has an agenda seemingly way more important than his own life, judging by the fact that he is currently isolated in an empty street, surrounded with nothing but civilian houses, japanese-looking ones at that.

In a more accurate sense, as of now, he is in a japanese neighborhood within one of Tokyo's central residential prefectures. A place notorious for its many criminalistic gangs called 'Yakuzas', and some murder cases here and there.

However, the blue-eyed american remains undeterred by these facts lingering on the back of his head. It seems that he already knew the posing risks of coming here, but on the contrary, he was still here with the same agenda in mind, and that is to find an old 'Dojo' named 'Shigawara Dojo'.

His purpose of coming here to find such a random establishment was to find himself a place of tranquility from his business stuff. During these days, he was already feeling the overfatigue he guaranteed he would experience if he was to not give himself the time to rest. He needed a place of solace away from his ongoing chaotic worldwide entrepreneur lifestyle. he desperately wanted a place where no one would recognize him for his deeds and would treat him equally as one of the average vast majority.

In all actuality, he had done this for so many times already to the point where his secretary had one time even bugged his phone just to track his whereabouts whenever he would go missing from his office.

But this time, he felt so much more relief when he found out that this business trip was so successful that the alotted schedule of time for this trip exceeded the amount of time it took to get those three company's Ceo's to sign their agreement to build some laboratories here in Tokyo. Meaning, a whole entire month was left empty in his ever-filled schedule, meaning, he will inevitably be given that slot of time to be converted to his ever-wanted day-off known as 'Vacation'.

After being allowed 'Vacation' by his treacherous secretary here in Japan, he went out to experience the tourist life here in this sakura-fantasy country. Though, unfortunately, the alotted time was not enough for him to venture throughout this country, so he had to adjust and decided to simply stay here in the largest metropolis in the world, to experience mostly everything it could give to a fanatic tourist such as Raymond.

He went to numerous places, such as the anime districts, the red-light district, bars here and there, sushi and sashimi places. Went beaching in Zushi, offered prayers to the Meiji shrine, the Sensoji temple, the Nezu shrine, and the Tennoji temple. Of course, he did not miss the trip to sight-see near Mount Fuji. And lastly, he went to Chiyoda ward towards the Imperial Palace of Tokyo where the Emperor of Japan resided in. His Tokyo touring lasted for 2 and a half weeks, that would mean that he only had a week and a half left for vacation, and he did not want to waste every second of it. And so he went searching online for a secluded and old Dojo in Tokyo, and there he found the Shigawara temple, known for their traditional discipline and control over the Yakuzas surrounding their Dojo.

At first, he was reluctant to apply membership to such a dangerous-looking place, but soon he convinced himself that often times in business, when he wanted something, he risked everything to get it. For him, that goes the same for something simple like a sanctuary of tranquility.

And so after being able to easily apply for membership in such a Dojo, which he thought was normal because barely any people would want to go to such a place, this means that they would go for every person who wanted to apply for their membership.

----

After what could be considered as a long walk as it is now in the middle of noon, contrary from the start of his trip when it was morning, he was now in front of the Dojo.

A totally cared-for and totally not a decrepit-looking sanctuary of his own solace.

"No way"

Was what he could only mutter in English as he looked at the wooden Hiragana signage that says 'Shigawara Dojo' as it turns vertical, opposing its previous horizontal orientation.
