Chereads / Reincarnated as an Alchemist / Chapter 2 - Rebirth

Chapter 2 - Rebirth

As I opened my eyes I saw a dark haired man with green eyes holding me. He was saying a language I did not understand. He soon passed me onto a woman. She had blonde hair and deep blue eyes, this beautiful woman seemed to be my woman as she immediately started to breastfeed me.

Usually I would be aroused from sucking on the breasts of a young woman but it seems this new body has more of an influence on my mind than I thought.

As a newborn baby I wasn't capable of doing much except observe. In a few days I came to understand that this was a place in the medieval era due to the clothes and weapons carried by my parents. My father seems to be a swordsman with a rather peculiarly large sword. I also had an older sister who stares curiously at me. Our house had two maids as well, one for cooking and another for cleaning. Two guards also stood outside our house. It seems I was born in a noble family.

8 months later :

I could now understand the language. I think it is because baby brains have a faster learning ability than adult ones. My father's name was Ralph Armstrong while my mother was Clara Armstrong. My sister seemed to be named after my mother as Claire Armstrong. My name was Damian Armstrong.

Now that I could crawl I also saw in a mirror that I had my father's black hair and my mother's blue eyes. My sister was the opposite having my father's green eyes and mother's blonde hair. My sister was also four years older than me and constantly tried to ride on me when I was crawling. Ugh... she was indeed the most annoying.

1&1/2 years later :

Now I could walk and even speak as I was two years old. One day while walking through the house I saw mother teach Claire something. There was a circle on the ground that appeared to be drawn with a chalk and on top of it was a glass of water. My sister extended her arms onto the water and in a couple of minutes the water turned to ice. Astonished by this I ran to Clara and asked,"Mother, what was that?"

"Oh. That's alchemy Damian, your sister has begun learning it."

"I want to learn it too."

"Uh... you have to be six years of age to start learning it Damian. But I think I can teach you how to read and write. How is that?"

"Fine. But you need to tell me about alchemy too."

My mother nodded while acknowledging my request.

Of course reading and writing was important but I wanted to learn alchemy too because it sounded way cooler and the existence of alchemy proves that I am not in my world but in an entirely new world.

Later that night my mother taught me the alphabets and then started to tell me about alchemy.

" Damian, alchemy is the transmutation of one material to another. So you cannot create something out of nothing. Also not everyone can learn alchemy. The ability to learn alchemy is gifted through your blood. For example mama knows how to do alchemy but papa cannot."

"So how do we do alchemy.",I asked.

"Well even if you have the talent for it you should first learn to create a transmutation circle. The shape of the circle depends on which type of alchemy you use. Mama is a water alchemist hence she uses this symbol."

She shows her hands and there is a tattoo of a circle on it.

"How many types of alchemists are there?",I asked.

"Well there are many types of alchemists, but the most common are the metal, water and bio-alchemists. Metal alchemists can transmute metallic substances while water alchemists can turn water into ice or vapour. While bio-alchemists are the most dangerous as the can transmute living matter and are responsible for the creation of the chimeras."

"Chimeras?"

"They are creatures formed through fusion of multiple animals. Anyways its getting late you should go to sleep."

Mother took me to my room or at least our room. As I shared one room with my sister while parents shared the main bedroom.

As I sat on the bed to sleep my sister who was on the other side of the room said," Hey, did mama's boy learn alchemy?"

"I will learn it in a couple of years and be better then you."

"Such confidence. What if you can't do alchemy?"

"If you can do it than anyone can do it."

This angered my sister and she jumped on me thinking she could tackle me. The night ended with us fighting until we got tired and fell asleep.
